ambidextrous also.

i write with my right hand, fire weapons with my left.

i learned to golf right-handed because my dad was right-handed and we only had rightie clubs to learn with. but when i got old enough to have my own clubs, i bought lefties and suddenly realized i wasn't complete shit at golf anymore.

i can't imagine being right-handed and making a conscious decision to shoot lefty. so many firearms have a backwards safety, etc. i assume you've always been that way?

What's eye do you use to shoot with?

My dominate eye is my right eye but I'm left handed, I fiddled around with different stances but eventually just started shooting right handed because it took forever to line a shot up that wouldn't risk having the gun kicking back into my face

@midnight being able to throw a baseball with both hands is fairly impressive, if I remember correctly I think the Athletics had a relief pitcher that would bring two gloves to the mound because he could pitch with both arms.  I can do stuff with my right hand but trying to throw a baseball on that side is just an embarrassing act for me... just picture what someone stroking out mid throw would look like and that's the results.  I did experiment with switch hitting for a couple years during practices, the results weren't nearly as disastrous as throwing  but I was way more fluid and coordinated batting left handed

I can see the ball better when I am batting left. Although, I have more power from the right side of the plate.

But I mostly batted left.

@molarbear my left eye is dominant. while qualifying for the rifle range in boot camp, i UNQ (failed) i was

shooting with my right eye. the day before the last qual, the PI took myself and one other

to a shooting gallery (it was basically like a game) and had me fire the same, so he said try the other side

i got all bullseyes. so on last qual day, i got expert score (but because i had already UNQ'd i only qualified as

marksman.

i was so happy. then i had this asshole butter~bar, that was going to 'mansplain' how to fire a weapon,

because all he saw was that i had only qual'd as a marksman, and wanted his numbers up.

so, he took me to the range, and as i ignored his 'words of wisdom' i got dead center, shut him up real quick.

tl:dr yes...it was because of my vision that i have to shoot left handed. but, i also snowboard 'daffy'

For me all the advantages were batting on the left, I just wanted to be a switch hitter and played around with it until finally admitting my body/brain couldn't function that way

I was taught to point your thumb at a corner and close one eye at a time and the eye where your thumb is still on said corner is your dominate eye

Batting left, I had an open stance and was a pull hitter. Everything went to right field.

Batting right, I had a more closed stance and could manage to hit up the middle.

I was a far more consistent hitter from the left side.

I am right-handed

but I bat, play hockey, and golf (etc.) left-handed... or at least I would if I had done any of those things recently

when I eat with a knife and a fork, I have kind of trained myself to not switch the fork back to my right hand to eat whatever I've cut
