I catch it on Samsung+ but they fucked up the network. Idk who’s responsible for placing commercials but as of today shit is getting cut off for ads and it sucks they used to coincide with actual breaks but now mid sentence it cuts the anchors off to never return to where they really left off.

Well for starters TikTok is owned by China and the CCP has mandated a back-door into the program so that they can access the data at any time. That is a HUGE problem. Yes, its not great that Facebook and other social media sites here access our data, but its vastly better than China having access to that.

The algorithm it uses also is particularly aggressive. It actively pushes the absolute worst videos out there onto its users. It rapidly pushes people to extremist content, and not just political content either. You girls are aggressively targeted with videos that celebrate and encourage eating disorders. Young men are pushed to vile sexist rhetoric. Its been cited as a reason for an increase in eating disorders, sexist incidents in school, and even suicide.

Are the other social media sites innocent? No, not at all. But TikTok has taken the absolute worst of social media and amplified it.
