I ended up with a fractured bone by the right eye and an ear that looked like somebody went at it with shears.

Stitched up and back home safe. Gross pic below in the spoiler

Holy shit, those stairs did not like you. I hope you're getting pampered during the healing process.

Fuck dude, he could say he was whooping Mike Tyson's ass so bad, Tyson had to resort to ear-biting again.

Yeah, but then people would think Bouvre likes to assault the mentally disabled... Mike has taken quite a few blows to the head... :/

I did tell the doctor as I was getting pumped with fentanyl that I finally had something in common with Holyfield.

Hell I can barely touch it, and I have to to help it recover

think of the creative writing opportunities....have a different story on hand every time you have to explain it

you owed some money to a bookie

your neighbor didn't take too kindly to you shushing his dogs

you fell down the stairs, wait that's the real one right?

you were juggling knives

you were listening to a very sharp song

Holy hell, man! I accidentally summersaulted down the stairs as a kid, but neither of my ears were nearly torn off in the process. Are these outside stairs like between two floors of an apartment complex? Because that would make sense.

Is your hearing any worse off? If it is, is it supposed to be permanent?

Hearing is mostly fine (just clogged from blood run off) They were wooden basement stairs with a concrete floor at the bottom, so yeah I pretty rough ride.

Did they evaluate you for a concussion?

Also, the story from now on should be "I was minding my own business and got caught up in a knife fight with a cartel soldado." followed by a thoughtful pause and "He lost".

In any event, take care, watch for signs of dizziness or cognitive issues and don't drink any alcohol. Hope you feel better soon.

Was evaluated but no concussion.

And will do, thanks for the tips. ❤️

Update: went in for a follow-up. No need for additional surgery. Healing well. My two doctors (one a med student) are both exceedingly hot.
Like, I knew that when I went in the first time but this was the first time I REALLY got to see them.

One of them: You look better without blood all over your face.
Me: Yeah, I get that a lot.

holy crap I'm just seeing this now and ok now I'm afraid of stairs

You know that sensation of falling when you're almost asleep and you jerk awake?

That sensation has spiked since the accident.

Still though, all is well

I'm as virgin as virgin can be.

When I was 20 years old, I started having panic attacks, but before they were diagnosed as such, at one point I went to some place where they hooked my chest up to electrodes (EKG, I think?) and the nurse who put the lotion/whatever it was on my chest to make the electrodes stick was hot.
