So where was the other half?

Probably where the rest of the "landau" roof stuff was.  Mine looked like this - notice that the black roof material doesn't come all the way to the doors or windshield?  Really hated how that looked.

I can see that.  Kinda reminds me of a receding hairline.  Not a bad looking car, otherwise.

I did not include my parts cars that ran and drove before I stripped them. A 1980 K5 Blazer I still own (even if its just the VIN plate and title) and a 1995 Mustang GT convertible my friend bought the shell of and restored into a very nice car.

I sold the '98 Grand Cherokee back to my sister (whom I originally bought it from), and it was given back to me and I still have it. The 1988 K5 went to my stepdad and is coming back to me soon. I never got rid of the 1991 Mustang.

  • 1990 Ford Tempo (great grandmother's)
  • 1997 Chrysler Sebring (grandmother's)
  • 2016 Ford Fusion (lease)
  • 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid (lease)

Did not include the 1980s Reliant K I borrowed for a month my senior year of high school after I crashed the Tempo on black ice before the Sebring was fixed up. Ended up fixing the Tempo and using it for the rest of the school year.

That looks super nice.  I almost bought a 2012 Hyundai Veloster but I had reservations on the seller.

I was this close to getting a Subaru but when I started showing interest in Hyundai’s, my parents went all-in on trying to get me to choose a cooler model from Hyundai.

Design wise, the Elantra design from back then still looks impressive. The paint has worn significantly since then but that shouldn’t be something a paint job can’t iron out.

2008 Ford Focus

2017 Nissan Rogue

. . . that's it, lol

I liked my earlier model Focus's but that damn rust.  Also the valve gaskets like to leak and the bolts holding the cover on are made of spaghetti noodles.
Then there's the fact that the rear brakes are drums so that was fun.

My family had two Tempos and I believe there's a good reason why they don't make  them anymore.

  • 1983 Nissan Sentra (promised to me by my grandparents, but never ran when we had it.)
  • 1973 Chevy Cheyenne pickup (started learning to drive in this vehicle; sold it to a co-worker friend of my dad's who needed a car.)
  • 1992 Ford Tempo (finished learning to drive in this vehicle; given to me by my grandparents as a present on my 17th birthday; senior year/college vehicle; sold to help pay for a year of college; ended up getting totaled by the guy who bought it from us.)
  • 2001 Chevy S-10 pickup (meant to be mine, but I had to learn how to drive a stick first so Dad drove it; eventually learned, but I didn't have it enough for it to be second nature.)
  • 1992 Dodge Shadow (Nice car, but didn't have A/C; also, the sound system was lousy; ultimately crapped out when a rock punctured the drainage pan of the transmission system.)
  • 1999 Chevy Lumina (temp car when the Shadow crapped out.)
  • 1998 Chevy Blazer (given to me by my grandparents; good little car that got me through a couple tough years; crapped out on me on the way to school one time when the engine overheated, causing a gasket to blow.)
  • 2008 Ford Ranger (first vehicle that was truly mine; totaled it going to school by t-boning an 18-wheeler because I hit a puddle and started spinning out. I still miss this truck.)
  • 2006 Pontiac Montana (Mom's vehicle; only drove it to school for a few weeks before a lady pulled out and hit me while I was heading home getting food for my parents and me; totaled.)
  • 2003 Ford Explorer (hated this car, but it did serve me well all things considered.)
  • 2011 Chevy Traverse (got it used around the same time as the Explorer; current vehicle; actually prefer this to everything else I've had except for the Ranger.)
  • 2008 Toyota Rav4 (wife's car; pretty decent even though it's got a hell of a lot of miles on it.)
  • 2014 Nissan Frontier (actually my mom's truck, but I drive it when one of the two current vehicles we have are being worked on for an extended period of time; prefer this to everything else listed except for the Ranger and the Traverse.)

I almost had a '73 Fiat Spyder for a first car.  My paternal Aunt promised it to me, but later said it had too many mechanical issues.  I did not know that, at the time, a maternal Uncle of mine was the Head of Service for Fiat in the Central US.  (I really think my Dad talked my Aunt out of it & it was just an excuse)

It was a great starter car but by the time it made it to me it started having issues and ultimately I burned the transmission out, but by then I already had the Sebring waiting for me.

There are a pile of obscure 80s and 90s cars (hot hatches, weird sport sedans, vans, etc) that I would love to own. I just never stumbled across anything at the right time XD

I changed the oil once.

You're supposed to do that, right?

I like using coconut oil myself.  Some shifty supplement selling website says it helps with everything.
