Ric Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Super Mario RPG. Had no idea what an RPG was and rented it from Blockbuster, because Mario. I had no idea what I was doing since I started on someone else's save file which was in Land's End with the whirlpools. Eventually I figured out to start a new game and really got into it from there. 1 Quote

QueenoftheDorks Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Earthbound. I was way too young when I rented it from the video store and I had no idea at all what I was doing. Years later I played the Sailor Moon RPG and the Super Mario RPG on an emulator and fell in love. 1 Quote
Greeny Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I think it was Mario RPG. The first one I remember being serious about was FF VIII. 1 Quote
BloodHawk1991 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Super Mario RPG was the first one that I played, but the first one I beat was The Legend of Dragoon. 1 Quote

GuyBeardmane Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Dragon Warrior II, way back on the NES. Wound up getting all four Dragon Warrior games on the NES at garage sales when I was a kid. Picked up a copy of Final Fantasy too. I never beat the games, because I didn't have the patience to grind out levels and I wound up advancing too far and getting stuck. First RPG that I actually played through and beat was Chrono Trigger on SNES. Quote
TrigunBebop Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 The very first Final Fantasy on the NES Quote
molarbear Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Dragon Warrior I would watch my Brother play it and try to copy what he did later because I really had no idea where to go, I mainly just loved the music Quote
KimopoBotar Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Saga Frontier was my first RPG. Still makes me nostalgic. I'm gonna have to replay that. Quote

PenguinBoss Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Super Mario RPG, I think. I played a demo of FFVII, as well, but I can't remember which was first. Quote
Chapinator_X Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Final Fantasy VII. I believe I played the demo and then a few more years after, I bought the game. I also played the demo for Legend of Dragoon, but VII was the first one I had a full copy of. Quote
