What's your favorite vacation?

Camping seems like the best one if I could bring a cot or something to put it my tent.  Getting up off of the ground is difficult when you're old like I am.  Plus the last thing I need when I get the late night shits is a full body muscle clench directing all my body parts into vertical.  But yeah.  Fishing, campfires, cold-ass weather ( summertime camping can bite my ass, as the mosquitoes that swarm around during that time would most undoubtedly enjoy doing as well ).  I like the smell of morning air in the woods.

my consistent favorite place to go on vacation to is New Orleans. humid weather, best food, music, art, culture, and my brothers from another mother live there.

my favorite vacation i've been on was my last trip to Denver. so many outdoor adventures! hiking, white water rafting, kayaking, and mountain camping. had a lovely time in the city as well. TEDx, comedy works, art museum w sergE, 1up barcade, breweries, art in the streets, art galleries, buying art from a bar basement, long walks in lovely parks outside of the city, and best friend hangs for weeks!

One way ticket from DC to London in 2005. Buddy asked me if I wanted to come hang in London and Wales while he studied abroad… ended up staying in Europe for 6 months, and just happen to leave right around the time the London bombing happened too.

lotta good times had, bartended around Europe for a few days at a time and stayed in hostiles, met cool people I still talk to today. Went to a lot of raves. Good times.

Going to Hawaii with my parents and brother when I was around 14. We stayed in beach front property in Lanikai, Oahu. What really made this trip special to me was my dad telling us a bunch of stories of when he grew up there at the various sites we went to. Snorkeling in crystal clear water full of exotic looking fish was great. Speaking of, it takes a lot to get me in the ocean, because I'm used to heated pools. Any Cali beach the water is too cold, fuck that. Hawaii beach? I mean, it's no heated pool, but warm enough to get me to swim around. Body surfing was fun. Went to some touristy places that were cool. My dad really wanted to take us to a luau but that never happened, I think he couldn't find one happening in the time frame we were staying. I remember the room in the house that was originally dubbed my room had huge cockroaches in it (which according to my dad was inevitable there, not at all a sign of filth). I have a phobia of many small harmless bugs common over here so a huge cockroach was freaking me the fuck out. I begged my dad to kill it for me, he refused, just told me to deal with it. After bugging him some more, he said I could sleep on the couch, which I did. There there were geckos crawling around on the walls, which my dad figured would freak me out as well and have me back in my room. Instead I quite enjoyed watching the geckos crawl along the walls and happily slept on the couch.

The Disney vacation I paid for. I took my mom, the miniature, and one of my cousins who helped out alot when the miniature was teeny. We stayed on a Disney property. It was one of the older ones but it was still pretty fun and you still get all the Disney perks. We went to Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs while at the resort then finished the week on the Disney Cruise line.

Pure. Fucking. Magic.

The mouse treats you real nice .... after you pay him.

Waiting to go on another Disney Cruise.

>.> but I also want to try Royal Caribbean

You can keep Carnival. I'm never cruising with them again

Never

Going to this cottage my dad's side of the family owned in Slower Lower Delaware as a kid. I spent two summers there and never wanted to go back to our house in bumfuck southern Maryland. I even wanted to live there. And now I live in a different part of DE but still near where that cottage was. In other words, I ended up living in a vacation spot.

Then there were a couple times when my parents and I went to Baltimore and one before that when we went to D.C. For my dad, it wasn't much of a vacation because he had to be there for a boat show. He managed a marina at the time and they sent him to promote the joint. For my mom and I, it was a vacation. We stuck to the harbor and thereabouts for the most part, visiting the Maryland Science Center, the National Aquarium, and a couple malls. I LOVED it. One time, we went off the beaten path and stumbled upon a Korean grocery store. The owner hooked me up with some Korean candy. Good times.
