I ain't saying she's lying, but that Twitter thread was full of OF accounts saying he was subbed to them and were clearly just advertising. And that's assuming they were real people and not just bots.

There are no accounts confirmed. I am fucking around in anticipation. Seriously though, I need whoever was followed to post the real tea. I NEED IT! God I can just imagine the court proceedings and the accounts have the porniest names being read out loud.

Oh, I certainly hope it's real. I just find it difficult to believe anyone would use campaign funds for OF, then show their face while running for/already in office.

Queue @Poofysaying they do that shit all the time.

A total of 60 House members, both Democrats and Republicans, have indicated either publicly or to POLITICO that they plan to change their vote in favor of expelling Santos after reviewing the damning findings of the Ethics report released Thursday. Only eight GOP members said that they would still vote against such an effort, with others still reviewing the ethics report or weighing their decision.

And the number of members in support is ticking up.

...

A GOP leadership aide, granted anonymity to speak bluntly, predicted: “He’s fucked.”

Also who replaces him?  Governor Hochul an election?

The Gov I believe is required within the next ten days or so to schedule an election a couple months out. So there will probably be a special in early spring.

In NY, special election candidates are chosen by party leaders directly (no primary), and the general sense is that they will nominate Tom Suozzi to run. He was the incumbent but opted to primary Hochul for Gov from the right last cycle, which is why the seat was open. It'll definitely be a test to see how damaged the Dem brand is on Long Island.

You’d think after picking a Santos LI might think twice but idk too much about LI other than it’s a weird mix of urban and rural areas.

It’s equal parts old money, people forced out of NYC by cost, and areas that run the gamut between isolated and middle class.  I find a lot of the people driven from NYC tend to be more conservative.

Suozzi should be the favorite - he was the incumbent a year ago, it's theoretically a blue-leaning swing district (Biden won it by like 8 points in 2020), and he's very conservative for a Dem. If he can't win, then that probably means Long Island is mostly off the table for now.

This is bullshit.

They're all con-men. Every single one of them.

They hated George because he was a con-artist.

We shall never see his like again. :RoboSad:

I didn't know the dates, had to look it up. Two guys in 1980 and 2002 who were convicted of crimes, and three guys in 1862 who were literal confederates.

I guess that is noteworthy. The first time a member has been expelled who hasn't either 1.) been convicted of a crime or 2.) supported the Confederacy.

Santos probably will be convicted eventually though.

I had a "highest subscribed male VTuber George Santos" joke all lined up and then I saw this shit:

"I rise not to defend George Santos, whoever he is," Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida said on the House floor on Thursday," but to defend the very precedent that my colleagues are willing to shatter."

TIL the Republicans do have a limit.

Based on what McCarthy was saying about Gaetz yesterday that limit is "You moron, you're ruining shit for the rest of us!"

It's when you use funds for botox, fancy clothes, AND internet spankings. He might have gotten away with two of those but all three at once was just too much for all the other morally upright thieves.

He is facing 23 federal felony charges and he's basically lost his safety net.
Wonder how long it takes before he tries to flee the country.

Now taking bets as to whether he'll be in a tie or a feather boa on the international security cameras.

I do have to laugh that the guy who didn't know that anything he did could possibly be wrong suddenly knows all about ethics violations of others.

The poor guy wasn't convicted of any crimes.

This whole thing seems shady.

To be fair, George Santos took Tom Suozzi's district because he ran for Governor instead. The snap-back was expected even though Long Island is trending conservative, the question is the margins and it seems like it was a blowout.

There was no way the female Israeli/Ethiopian/Jew was winning that race.  They just had all that in George Santos 🙃 and it didn’t work out so they went back to the democrat they knew. Which is good insofar that it cuts more into the gop majority.
