I don't get the appeal of hot sauce

I haven't had any in my house since I moved here....I just don't see why people like or need it.  If you like your food spicy, just season it so.  The vineagry pepper taste just doesn't seem to enhance my food.

I prefer olive oil infused with red chili peppers.....It's gives me the heat I want without completely mutating the flavor of my food.  I made shepherd's pie and since my lady likes hot sauce and keeps a bottle here, I decided to add some since it's been ages since I've used it......Like a fart in my fucking mouth.

Sriracha is ok but that's not the same shit and you don't just pour it on everything.

I was born in California.....If you knew as much as you thought you knew, you'd know that.

I knew more than i thought. I was right about you not being a true Southerner. Nothing wrong with CA roots. I freaking wish i lived there instead of sucky ass armpit of hell SC.

I only really use it on mac and cheese because I like it to have a kick

even then that's usually only when my nose is stuffed up and I want to taste something

Idk how to describe  it to you besides I just simply like the burning sensation.

Plus capsaicin can bring out flavors and natural umami of fooda you normally  wouldnt notice.

Its not for everyone but i am a legitimate foodie so i enjoy all food and will give anything a shot once.

My taste allows me to enjoy literally everything, and actually sometimes  i wouldnt mind appreciating how some people cant deal with certain textures of food. I dont get that concept. Wish i did for a day. It all taste good to me.

It adds a solid amount of spice to food that needs it. I vastly prefer the sauces with more pepper to it like Cholula though because those mesh with food a lot better and you don't have to sacrifice the flavors of the food you're already given to give it a nice spicy kick.

The vinegar-heavy hot sauces are good on chicken wings or pizza, but have little utility elsewhere other than to mask the flavor of bland food.

I like hot sauce if it enhances a bland meal...

Right here. When I eat 20 cent ramen I cook it with some habenero tobasco. I like the flavor and the heat it brings to the meal. It's good in a burger from time to time as well. But I'm a big fan of spicy food. So yes, SoCal is like heaven to me foodwise.

I like using hot sauce in some things while I'm cooking, but I'm not a big fan of putting it on food afterwards except for maybe eggs every now and then.
