The wife ended up with full custody of the kids because he was prone to fits of rage where he couldn’t contain himself and would vent his anger out on the air conditioner. The massive bat-sized dents were submitted in as evidence. She would go on to instill her children with fear as her narcissism would cause her to belittle her kids and condition them to rely on her until they’re old enough to move. He ended up with a high paying executive position at an air conditioning company. But he constantly shows up to work intoxicated and fills in the empty void in the pit of his chest with paid escorts. He tries dating every so often, including women at the office, but these relationships don’t last past the first date because once he’s two drinks in, he’ll start crying about how that “fucking bitch” milked him for all he was worth, including “that goddamn air conditioner”. If they’re coworkers, they will say something like “Air conditioner? Are we talking about work?” but if they’re strangers, they immediately glare at the exit. Then he begs for casual sex before they walk away disgusted.

That’s horrible. 54 is no time to go. Miura was also one of the few mangaka (or writers even) to capture dark fantasy for all of the tragedy it brought to its characters without being tempted to make edge for edge’s sake. He also had a far lighter side to him that helped to keep Berserk down to earth and enjoyed the simple pleasures of fluffy media like Idolmaster. From what I got, he shares Junji Ito’s quality of being a mellow dude who’s work was inspired by a fascination in macabre stories; in Miura’s case, it was MC Escher, Go Nagai, Conan the Barbarian, and 80’s sci-fi/horror. Ill need to catch up with Berserk, but he was one mangaka I was really hoping to see be able to publish his story’s finale.

Sounds reasonable, sorry if I went on a whole diatribe about this. Sometimes I get caught up about the rules being enforced on occasion, especially with some of the problems Rants had last year about YouTube spam. It’s also a lot for me to expect anyone moderating the site by their own accord to be omnipotent and police everything everywhere the moment it comes in. It’s probably why mods get easily overwhelmed and frustrated when abundant reports come in and they’re expected to answer same day or else. Apologies if my ranting ended up being as much of a headache.

I’m more excited for the Superman show because the art looks cute and I’d honestly go for a Clark Kent story where he has to navigate around his civilian job as a reporter. It sounds like a fresh breath of air compared to asshole dictator Superman that the comics, movies, and video games keep giving us. On the other hand, I got a bad feeling about this Batman one. Bruce Timm’s record has been far spottier lately and Jar Jar Abrams being anywhere around a “re-imagining” is gonna be trouble.

I know that this thread was a response to the cryptic message in the original Male thread, but then the ban message ended up being used as an announcement to roll out a new site-wide policy. It goes back to the “No you’re overreacting… but we really are banning hentai” argument that came back when the only thing they wanted to tell us was that things will change and an underaged butthole was detected. But if it was the Deku image, why wasn’t this an issue a year ago when it was posted? Or when everyone joked about regulars in the Female Hotness thread posting erotic images of underaged girls whenever they let their problematic views out in Rants/DF? Shouldn’t the two threads where the most NSFW images are posted outside of a hoohaa thread be where you’d want to make sure you can shut shit down quick? I just feel like it’s too late to take the moral high ground on banning questionable NSFW images when that line should’ve been drawn in the sand much earlier to avoid using an old post to dictate newer changes. Maybe I’m just overreacting because all of the major disputes on this site need to be cross-referenced with 50 different threads with 10 years worth of bad blood to read up on if you want to understand anything. Sometimes, it’s like catching up to the next Avengers movie to keep up with these threads, and finding out a new rule was snuck in a ban screen for an old drawing of nude Deku was just yet another “Looks like the cat is out of the bag, but I won’t tell you what 🥴” news update you’d expect from a bloated DF thread.

I’m pretty sure it was the spread-eagle Deku that looks like ordinary Deku but for NSFW purposes, is hopefully over 18. If that was the image that caused this, it’s kinda messed up how the mods publicized his warning as “DRAWING UNDERAGED BUTTHOLE” when the same courtesy wouldn’t have been extended to those who posted nude teenage anime girls in the past.

Ended up getting both of the Famicom Detective Club games. Really enjoying The Missing Heir for its retro charm and laid back atmosphere. I’ve gotten so used to trial-and-error mystery VNs that it’s a relief that these games give you more liberty to explore a bit before you get to where you need to be. I’m also playing Yakuza 6 which has been providing me with much of my J-drama fix with its soap opera-y plot. I also finished the Valkyrie chapter of Odin Sphere and loved it, but I still need some time with the Pooka Prince chapter.

In other news, Netflix has greenlit a live action Mario based on the grotesque flesh-like art of Mario with stubble.
