Yeah.

You should be able to get it working again if you just click on the "Let's go!" button and wait. But I can't imagine it would be a bad thing to leave it like that for a while, especially for someone like you. 😏

I think that particular pop-up only affected people who have the app on their phones/tablets. I never saw that particular pop-up on the desktop.

The connections/protections on phones are falling apart fast because King Lego doesn't know what he is doing while firing everyone that does.

Elon Musk reportedly tried to sell Twitter's office plants to employees as part of his push for cash

As part of his bid to boost income for Twitter, Elon Musk tried to get Twitter's staff to buy its office plants, according to an anonymous engineer who spoke to the BBC.

The engineer, who the BBC didn't name because he is still employed at Twitter, said Musk's focus at the company was on money. He said that Musk had fired the company's cleaning and catering staff.

"There are so many things broken and there's nobody taking care of it, that you see this inconsistent behaviour," the engineer said, according to the BBC.

Insider previously reported that cockroaches had been spotted at Twitter's New York office, which workers said began to smell after Musk decided not to renegotiate the contracts of facilities maintenance workers responsible for cleaning the space.

....

To generate more money outside of advertising, Musk has overhauled Twitter Blue, the company's now $8-per-month subscription service. But he's also turned to more unorthodox methods to raise money: He auctioned off hundreds of items of Twitter's office furniture, including industrial kitchen equipment, statues, coffee machines, and office chairs.

I wouldn't be surprised if he came up with the "For You list is only going to be blue checked accounts" idea on a whim because he was desperate for money. Make the experience so miserable for non-verified accounts that they each pay him $8.

Well they certainly aren't getting the money from advertisements.

Advertisers are still avoiding the platform?  I thought they would be back by now.
Everyone with sense should never pay for, and should leave Twitter. Let it be a cesspool of far right shit heads and rich bots paying $8 a month for nothing.  He’s such an asshole, especially where he doesn’t let people that don’t pay participate in polls. He knows a good chunk of people paying are his rabid fanboys so the polls can now go how he wants them to

Last week, Twitter began notifying users who were verified under the company’s previous regime that their blue check marks will be taken away unless they become paid subscribers for $8 a month. It’s about “treating everyone equally,” CEO Elon Musk tweeted in response to a critical William Shatner. “There shouldn’t be a different standard for celebrities imo.”

But Twitter does have a different standard for celebrities – including Musk himself. For months, the platform has maintained a list of around 35 VIP users whose accounts it monitors and offers increased visibility alongside Elon Musk, according to documents obtained by Platformer. The list, which spans the political gamut and also includes several journalists and celebrities, includes:

  • NBA All-Star LeBron James

  • Daily Wire founder and conservative commentator Ben Shapiro

  • Pseudonymous conservative commentator @catturd2

  • Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY

  • President Joe Biden

So bots  are cool if they pay?

Most of the bots are part of his personal follower swarm so of course he's going to figure out a way to let as many of those things live.

I think one of my followers is a bot but it's a vacation photos in Europe type of bot that otherwise hasn't done anything stupid-stupid.

Damn it, I thought organizations would be free since... they are organizations. The ones most likely to use it would be charities and other not-shit things.

There goes my plan to game the system for an organization check. :P

Since Musk took over he has set about dismantling everything that made Twitter valuable — making it his mission to drive out expertise, scare away celebrities, bully reporters and — on the flip side — reward the bad actors, spammers and sycophants …
