So a mate could not get a visa to visit the USA

He travels the world a lot and his next trip starts in Argentina then heading north to Alaska.. needs a visa to travel through the states..but because he is a bomb maker (Been charged with a terrorism offence .. made a pipe bomb and let it go off on a public figures front lawn here) anyways the US homeland security would not grant him a pass to travel through the country..  Soo to get around that.. He went to the USA embassy in Melbourne applied for citizenship..  he now holds a USA pass port and is now a citizen of the USA.. with out ever being there.  he did tell me he will never try to use it in any other country tho.. apparently no one likes Americans..  One example of this is.. Use his Aussie pass port to travel to a country the visa cost is a hypothetical $300.. use the American one the cost is (add another thousand.)

This is not how I expected the story to go.

......I feel like something is missing....How did he gain citizenship and a US passport without having been here or having any other US credentials......

I think the only way this works is if his friend has birthright.

why is everyone freaking out bc he blew up a pipe bomb on someone's front lawn? who hasn't made a few pipe bombs?

If he did it in 1999....Then oh well....If he did it post 2001, then he should have known better.....And the term "public figure" is vague af in the OP....Politician, TV personality, Youtuber, town drunk....We don't know....Like I said, I call bullshit on the whole thing, including the pipe bomb.

Setting off a pipe bomb in someone's yard is just asking to get fucked by Murphy's Law. Even my idiot friends back in the day set off that type of shit on their own property which was usually a good distance from other homes or drove somewhere secluded.

A terrorism charge will probably disqualify you from getting citizenship anywhere. Unless they issue you a passport while your citizenship is still pending. Sounds fishy.

Plus multiple serial killers and several murder attempts that involved using pipe bombs in the last decade.

Yea but they can also be used to not serial kill or murder or terrorism

Wow, this is a really Bucketesque hill to die on, but whatever....Have fun with defending this badass person that I'm sure doesn't even exist since OP hasn't even came back to this thread.

Well if bucket would throw away his hate maybe we could've had a conversation about the 2nd amendment and he'd find I agree with him

Out of curiosity, exactly what are the commercial and/or agricultural applications of a pipe bomb?

Small explosives can be used to scare birds.

OK, I'll take this as my erpyderp moment of the day....
I don't know if you're serious....Are you scaring away birds so you don't kill them when you demolish their homes.

I'm actually asking, I'm no a tree hugger....More of a tree ogler, but not that in love with them....I just was wondering what's practical about scaring birds.

Or this was a joke and I completely missed it.

It was a joke.  My brother was in Florida a couple of weeks ago, and, apparently, you can buy all kinds of fireworks (shit that isn't legal here) as long as you say it's for scaring birds.

Edit:  You weren't derping, I was just being unintentionally obscure.

Redneck dumbasses sometimes use it for fishing.

I thought that that was plain dynamite.

Shrapnel makes for poor eating - it's like hunting deer with a shot gun, and you could break a tooth on it.

Because it was more about blowing up shit than actually catching anything. I think every once in a while people find pipe bombs at the bottoms of lakes and rivers from idjits who couldn't even set them off properly.

Visas go through the DHS/USCIS; you cannot bypass the DHS by going to an embassy.

You cannot gain citizenship without being in the country; it requires 5 years of continuous residency.

It does not cost $1300 to get into any country with a US passport.

Australian passports actually cost more money to obtain.

not fact as far as i know sorry ..even though i did not hold his hand while he got citizenship..i have actually personally viewed his US pass port... He did say it took a while to obtain..

I don't think we are doing that so much as Poof likes to be edgy for no apparent reason sometimes.

I'm not being edgy. You're more country than I am. You're telling me you didn't play with fire or any explosives growing up?

No, I played with animals....All the animals

You might think I'm into that since I just made a thread about an elephant named Big Willy but not really my cup of tea. I don't judge tho. The heart wants what the heart wants
