Raptorpat Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM my early 20s coworker said it was dead technology what are the odds i am the only person in this entire airport with an actual ipod (nano) plugged into corded earbuds 3 Quote
The_annoying_one Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM I can’t speak for other humans, but I think the last time I used my iPod (which I admittedly no longer own) was at least five years ago, maybe longer. 1 Quote
André Toulon Posted yesterday at 02:56 AM Posted yesterday at 02:56 AM never owned one... I had a zune tho ....Jeeze, I was still in MS so that was around Katrina because that was all i had and my DS for a while...so 2005ish yeah, that math checks out. How was that ages ago AND last week 2 Quote
Raptorpat Posted yesterday at 03:04 AM Author Posted yesterday at 03:04 AM I got a second generation ipod nano maybe 2005ish? My friend had one and it seemed neat. Then I never took it out of the box until I got a summer gig in 2011 doing data entry for 13 hours a day and they literally told us to bring in music to stay sane. So I took it out of the box and plugged it in and immediately got a recall notice that the battery was more or less a bomb, and that they'd replace it. They sent me a sleeve to mail it in a they sent me whatever the current gen ipod nano was. It was half the size and held twice as much storage so it seemed like a win. After that job I've probably used it less than a dozen times when I remember it exists right before I travel. All in all probably an understatement to say I've always been behind the curve on this stuff. 3 Quote

Insipid Posted yesterday at 03:19 AM Posted yesterday at 03:19 AM Odds are you're the only one. A lawyer with an adroid phone and an obsolete ipod . . . hipster. 5 Quote
UwPp Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM My iPad classic had a pen go through the screen while it was in my purse. 😔 So yes old man. 1 Quote
scoobdog Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM I have one on the night stand that runs on my Sony alarm clock radio/cd, but the battery is toast so it doesn't function as an iPod anymore - just a music storage device for the clock. 1 Quote

1pooh4u Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I haven’t used my nano in about a hundred years. I used to have an iPod touch (jail broken), when I used to have Android phones. Then I switched to the iPhone and I don’t listen to music on it anymore 🫠 yeah. IdkwtfIedha. 1 1 Quote

rpgamer Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) I still use mine, but I'm trying to get away from it. My big problem is finding anything that can replicate a feature of itunes that I use extensively. In iTunes, I have the option/capability of telling it custom start and stop times for every track. An absolute blessing for trimming out excess silence, live audience clapping, intros, etc etc. And when I move that music to the ipod, it remembers those settings. I've since found MusicBee, capable of the same settings, and just generally seems a nicer music library tool... but putting that music on my phone (android) won't actually remember those settings (although I think I might be able to force it by having it essentially create a new file with the truncated times.. maybe). Still using an ipod touch that's kinda coming apart at the seams (poor repair job). And I went out and bought a backup that's still new in box when I heard they were discontinued. But, if I can ever find a way to get my mobile music library to work how I want, I'll finally be free of it. Edited 11 hours ago by rpgamer 1 Quote
