mochi Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 a Christmas Story if Cartoon Network hadn't let the rights lapse to all the christmas specials they used to air and started licensing awful video Brinquendo christmas stuff to replace it back when Snyder ran them I'd watch CN's christmas stuff but alas they did
katt_goddess Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 I don't seek any of that stuff out to watch, I have to listen to crapmas songs play over the intercom from Nov 1 - Dec 31. When I get home, it's a sanctuary from such horrors.
Hornshire Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 We'll usually do A Christmas Story at least once, typically starting in the middle then watch from the beginning to where We came in. Nightmare Before Christmas and Die Hard We also make an effort for. And if We catch either of the first two Home Alone's, We'll stop and watch them.
RPM Jr. Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Ghostbusters II, Scrooged, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...You know, all the classics.

Sandstone Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I typically hate watching Christmas movies or listening to Christmas music I find it kind of annoying now for some reason... but if I were to pick one I would watch it'd be Christmas Family Vacation. I do enjoy Chevy Chase.
Vamped Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I never intend to watch them but somehow they end up on TV and I don't change the channel
Gyaos Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I don't watch them. I buy gifts for people and I bake shit, but that's all I do as far as "celebrating."
Greeny Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Fred Claus, A Christmas Story at least a few times.
Chapinator_X Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 A Christmas Story because someone left it on TBS for the whole day

GuyBeardmane Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Mickey's Christmas Carol has always been my favorite. I go out of my way to avoid any and every thing dealing with Christmas, but I always come back to Mickey's because it's just so, so good.

PurgatoryGirl Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 (edited) A Christmas Story by Bob Clark Something I found to be rather interesting was that the filmmaker of A Christmas Story was the same filmmaker, who did both Porky's and the Christmas Slasher, Black Christmas. Black Christmas was filmed a decade before Clark created A Christmas Story. Talk about a major contrast in movie genres. Edited November 29, 2017 by PurgatoryGirl

I can understand why. Even though John Carpenter was influenced by Black Christmas and created Halloween because of the Christmas Slasher, Black Christmas annoyed me. It was mostly because the so-called "heroine" was a stupid, self-centered, sorority girl. Supposedly, Bob Clark and Nick Mancuso took turns playing the stalker. I hated the ending of Black Christmas. I was yelling at my screen because the "heroine's" dumb ass wouldn't listen to the cops. Although, that ending was an interesting twist. Everyone thought it was her boyfriend stalking and killing sorority girls, when it was a moral villain lurking in the shadows.

The boyfriend not being the killer was so obvious that I called him Red Herring throughout the film, and I can't remember if there was anyone in that movie I didn't want to die. That can be fun sometimes, but naw, this movie just pissed me off. 1

However, the so-called heroine was the most stupid, self-centered, and annoying character out of everyone. When the police told her the killer was in the house, I was literally yelling at my screen, "YOU STUPID BITCH! GET OUT THE FUCKING HOUSE!" That character made my blood boil because she was such a dumb ass. 1

We watch this every year after the grandkids go to bed. Christmas Evil was a Christmas Slasher I couldn't take seriously. The decorations were the only frightening parts about the entire film. The protagonist made me laugh. Silent Night, Deadly Night was the most convincing Christmas Slasher, when it came to the protagonist having Santaphobia. Christmas Evil, on the other hand, did not deliver. That Christmas Slasher was a joke! Oh no! I saw Santa Claus is caressing mommy's thigh by the Christmas Tree. So traumatizing! Now, I have SANTAPHOBIA! Edited November 30, 2017 by PurgatoryGirl
