SwimOdin Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Took my grandson and the dog to the park this morning, it was hot but not unbearable. Forgot he had a swim lesson this afternoon (thankfully indoors), it feels like the devil’s anus outside. 3 Quote
1pooh4u Posted June 24 Posted June 24 It’s so fuckin hot when I left work to catch the ferry I went up in fuckin flames. Feels like 108 fuckin hell and cuz of the high humidity sweating is damn near useless 3 Quote

Dark_Cloud_Overhead Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Mowed the lawn this evening and even with the sun mostly down I think I still sweated out nearly a gallon. Felt good though. Fortunately, heat doesn't really bother me that much. 2 Quote
discolé monade Posted June 25 Posted June 25 i can feel the 'dome' effect, the pressure is so great, on top of the high humidity. it's actually 'hotter' this eveing, then it was afternoon. but the pressure. like i'm in an airplane at takeoff. and being in swampland, the palmetto bugs are out in full force, trying to get in...some successful. so, yay, i get to spray the house tomorrow. 6 Quote
_lost_username_ Posted June 25 Posted June 25 We're in the middle ring of the circle and the highs are staying just below 95. Not as bad as last year but still terrible outside. Managed to get a little lawn stuff done in the morning and evening. Between that I took boxes to the recycler and made on of my two time a week appearances at my office. The air conditioning in my car seems to be dying so I wound up buying an iced pop for the first time in years. 2 Quote
The_annoying_one Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Seven straight days of rain here starting tomorrow. Now taking bets on how much that won’t cool things off at all. 1 Quote

Dude, it rained here yesterday...poured down, but I looked out the window and the sun was still beaming. I went outside and there were clouds to the north and the sun sunning to the south. The weather has learned to get along to fuck us up. 2 3 Quote
tsar4 Posted June 26 Author Posted June 26 Car outdoor temp indicated 100F when I left work at 3:45pm. I had the a/c on at 73F and it was barely keeping up. 1 Quote

discolé monade Posted June 27 Posted June 27 (edited) we had a massive storm over-night, hurricaine like winds, lots of pickup. lost power very early morning. but it was suprisingly cool in the house. the storm broke the dome over this way. Edited June 27 by discolé monade 2 Quote
1pooh4u Posted Wednesday at 04:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:27 PM Climate change isn’t really real. NYC is now a subtropical climate zone. Nothing to see here, right? Hey at least I can start gardening sooner and harvest a little later, right? Yeah. I’m sure this is fine https://secretnyc.co/nyc-classified-as-a-humid-subtropical-climate-zone/ 3 Quote

Quote Humid subtropical climates are defined with average summers above 72°F and average winters above 27°F. For the last decade, NYC has continued to meet those requirements. This past winter, NYC saw an average temperature between January 2025 through March 2025 of 37.7°F. As for summer 2024, NYC saw an average temperature of 76.6°F from June 2024 through August 2024. 1 3 Quote

Averages can be affected by radical highs in the chain. 1+1+1+97=100 100÷4= an average of 25. Now figure placement. If you put all the thermometers in places where the sun is reflected from glass structures, you're likely to get a higher reading. We're not talking about the same conditions found in Southern Florida and changing the definition of subtropic to include places where temperatures quite often go below freezing for months at a time will not change what those places really are. 1 Quote

No one was placing thermometers on glass structures or wtf imaginary shit you’re making up FROM THE ARTICLE YOU DID NOT READ “Humid subtropical climates are defined with average summers above 72°F and average winters above 27°F. Speaking of radical highs, you must be radically high if you think climate experts don't use highly complex algorithms and just calculate the mean the way we all learned in grade school. Can't believe the career janitor thinks he knows more about math than scientists. 6 Quote
