Well, the teaser to the actual indictment. The Fulton County, GA, website briefly posted this before realizing their mistake and taking it down.

Now including racketeering.

In order to get out on bail in Georgia, a defendant has to prove they pose "no risk" of intimidating witnesses or obstructing justice.

Translation, he's going to be going to rallies as a robot.

A Republican would probably still have won the 2016 election, served somewhat competently and gotten reelected in 2020.

2024 probably would be a swing back to a new Democratic president.

It's common knowledge that Republicans fear Donald Trump. They don't want him to ruin their careers by saying mean things or whatever. This never made sense because it was obvious Trump would be in prison in a few years. You're really going to be scared of a guy whose only concern will eventually be what's for lunch in prison each day?

Cowards who completely lack foresight.

Even if Trump cost you a job, you could eventually get it back when everyone forgot about Trump.

“A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey,” Trump announced Tuesday morning on Truth Social. “Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others – There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that Rigged the Election. They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!”

What a procrastinator. He’s finally getting around to letting us know it was all fine. Silly department of justice!

Also, “riggers”? Talk about a fucking dog whistle.

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows officially filed Tuesday to move the case brought against him by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis into federal court, just a day after he was indicted along with former President Donald Trump and 17 others on charges of attempting to overturn Trump's election loss in the state.

The filing from Meadows' attorney George Terwilliger and Atlanta-based attorney Joseph Englert is based on a federal law that they argue requires the removal of criminal proceedings brought in state court to the federal court system when someone is charged for actions they allegedly took as a federal official acting "under color" of their office.

Trump is also expected to mount a similar effort, according to sources familiar with the matter.

"Nothing Mr. Meadows is alleged in the indictment to have done is criminal per se: arranging Oval Office meetings, contacting state officials on the President's behalf, visiting a state government building, and setting up a phone call for the President," Terwilliger wrote in the filing. "One would expect a Chief of Staff to the President of the United States to do these sorts of things."

"This is precisely the kind of state interference in a federal official's duties that the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution prohibits, and that the removal statute shields against," Terwilliger wrote.

Terwilliger additionally says in the filing that while Meadows intends to file a motion to dismiss the indictment entirely, removing the case into federal court would "halt the state-court proceedings against Mr. Meadows."

Meadows could not immediately be reached for comment.

District Judge Steve Jones, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, has been assigned to Meadows' case, according to his court docket.

My understanding is anyone who was on the US payroll at the time will try to do the same. There's the a chance of rolling some Trump-appointed judges at some point in the process, and it also changes the composition of the potential jury pool.

And that's how Shafer's journey to a RICO felony began. Hard to feel sorry for the guy. Yeah, he's probably acting out of fear, but at some point I would have stood up for myself.

Donald Trump calls off press conference where he said he would share report on Georgia election fraud claims

The former president said his lawyers would instead put “Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence” in their legal filings over his latest indictment.

If he had blockbuster, exonerating information that proved allegations against him are false, wouldn't it make sense for him to have produced that in the two years of investigation BEFORE he was indicted?

Trump’s lawyers told him “we don’t have enough Xanax on the planet to deal with another one of your press conferences” and Trump actually listened and then everyone clapped

That was one of the most surreal press conferences of all time. Like jfc how drunk was the person that set that up. You gotta be pretty friggin drunk to be like “four seasons hotel four seasons landscaping, meh wth same difference”. And to think, after that obvious act of incompetence, a significant portion of the country still believed those clowns when they said “the election was stolen”
