this is such a fucking joke.

at this point, the only thing 'we the people' can hope for, is the dems keep their fucking spine, and move forward with this with gusto,  **

to ENSURE this horrid orange monster, is not able to steal the 2024 election by convicting.

anyone that is on the side of this tyrannical mess known as trump, can get fucked.

** we know they won't. we know that the people we voted for do not represent us any longer, both rep and dem,  and i for one hope the whole thing burns to the fucking ground.

This is my biggest complaint right now with all of this.

They are showing a step by step playbook on how the insurrection went down, where the failures were, where failures in our system are, and then doing nothing to fix it.

We can all see this train wreck coming, and instead of stopping it we seem to be adding nuclear fuel to the engine.

If there arent charges recommended by this committee by the end of it then its a total failure of duty by everyone there. We cannot risk Trump making another run at this in 24. And we absolutely cannot allow these weaknesses to continue to exist, Its an existential threat to our Democracy.

The former Senate Sergeant at Arms has suddenly passed away.

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/3539605-former-senate-sergeant-at-arms-who-served-during-capitol-insurrection-dies/

"Former Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger, who served during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, died on Monday, Politico reported

No cause of death has been reported. Stenger served as sergeant-at-arms, responsible for ensuring security around the Capitol and enforcing the Senate’s rules, for three years.

He resigned on Jan. 7, 2021, after receiving intense criticism for the inability of the Capitol’s security to keep the rioters outside the building. The Senate sergeant-at-arms serves on the Capitol Police Board, which governs the U.S. Capitol Police, along with the House sergeant-at-arms and the architect of the Capitol.

Stenger received criticism from both Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving and Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund also resigned following the insurrection.

Politico reported that Stenger served in the Marine Corps and worked in the Secret Service for 35 years before joining the Senate’s Office of the Sergeant at Arms in 2011.

Stenger testified to members of the Senate in the month following the insurrection that a review of the Capitol Police was needed in the aftermath of the attack. Sund said in testimony at the same hearing that Stenger and Irvin rejected his requests for assistance from the National Guard two days before the insurrection. "

So wtf is it that I’m reading?  Trump attacked a secret service agent because they wouldn’t let him lead a group of white nationalists to the Capitol?   This is the PoS that’s going to be our president again in 2024. This is the walking trash can that democrats can’t beat if the election was today.

I hardly think Trumps path to victory would be as clear as people have it in another election. You have to realize that either way him being president again, the chances of, and stirring up adreneline on all sides of the political spectrum is what keeps Trump even relevent in the first place. Just using media to his advantage even when it looks like he isnt. I'm not in impressed personally though the fact he was elected once did make literally all the weak points in the system transparent to a lot of politically powerful people on all sides of the spectrum among other things too depressing to list out in one post..

Tha was a ganeralised post I'm sorry if not targetting one isolated incident like the 'insurrection' or subsequent political fallout we're 'supposedly' dealing with still wasn't my sole aim when using a name like Trump in a sentence. Trump's entire strategy often relies on the mis-use of extrapolated politcal and economic data can you not agreee with that? Or are you still watching a black, and white television that only shows you the racial aspects of the GOP Trump if you even want to guve him credit for actual results?

Why the fuck do I have something to explain to you. Get to the point fast or I dont fucking care I guess. Because I only ever seem to have an argument with you when race is involved and Trump is a disaster to politics for far more FUCKING IMPORTANT REASONS!!!!!!~! 🤷‍♂️

He went for the guys throat.  I mean, it's not like those little hands are going to do much, but that must still be really fucking unnerving.

Scoob so why challenge me like that? I feel like saying the racial disputes that seem directly tied to him are the least of our concerns, but I also remember a rant topic where your team tried to dig into me just because I tried to make it a smaller issue. In retrofelct I guess race wasn't a smaller issue amongst americans if we can allow so many o these powerful entities to turn us against each other.. Whether it's political twitter, or youtube just don't try to play dumb about that racial divide.../

I also remember being in the national guard in Texas when I was called to respnd to George Floyd PRotests in an area..but still the only seemingly reasonable threat I got from higher ups was a white group that decidedlty operated on horse back, but could be a threat might aggrevate things...

That never happenned.. we were all over the place those of us not standing by told to blend the fuck in because we are here to maintain order and some groups...That have a problem with law enforcement are probably already looking for us to show up...

Ever had your windpipe grabbed by an infant?

It's yet another reason why abortion should be sacred.

Murderous baby hands.

and of course you still don't right? Look I'm fucking as scared as most people I've seen in this thread 'judging by their posts of course' about trumo returning to office, and heres a more likely thing to be afraid of.. Say Trumps peeps make him realize presidents a long shot and he seeks office elsewhere... IDK anywhere a political fffice will benefit him why not go for it... He didn't need to be impeached though as congress determined.Twice right? 🙃

K... Thanks Scoob. R V wade everything... It does make seems look grim, but I encourage the...posting of polls and opinions...THE MAJORITY of americans still support the rightFOR abortion kickstarting things that most....LOL it just still seems so superficial when most of us that think logically,  are going to help those in need anyway.

Just saying I've already said I love camping trips..

Does anybody else find the timing of the overturning of Roe V. Wade suspicious?
I suspect it's at least partially serving as a distraction from the Jan. 6 committee hearings.

It's just coincidental.  Like, all the shit that's going on is just going on regardless of other moving pieces.

Why grabbing the wheel, specifically? Is that the only part the USSS was around for? Or is it the only part that's potentially false?

Trump was screaming 'pussy pussy pussy!' at the time of the actions in question and therefore, he was not officially grabbing at a steering wheel.

So, the two Secret Service agents directly involved have indicated they would testify under oath that Hutchinson was lying about President Trump attempting to grab the wheel.

Cheney should be disbarred for subordinating perjury at this point.

Okay, you got me.

Spoiler

I don't believe Donald Trump is healthy enough to actually reach from the back seat of a vehicle to the steering wheel.

So this guy claims that he knows people who are close to the secret service but he didn't hear it from their mouths directly?

Seems legit.

First, regarding the "failed insurrection". The Government is probably not charging them with trying to overthrow the government, but rather with conspiring to use force to prevent the execution of Federal law. This can be surmised since the individuals have not been charged with the crime of insurrection.

"No worries, it's not legally an insurrection. Because they weren't plotting to overthrow the entire government - they were just conspiring to prevent the peaceful transfer of power to keep the president who lost in power!" So your argument pushing back literally just boils down to pushing back against colloquial semantics?

Guise forget getting any answers from Ginguy. He’s gone full conservative clown. Every point he brings up is either debunked bullshit, or wild whataboutisms. He’s a villain and doesn’t realize it. It’s like all those people crying that “The Boys” suddenly turned political and woke cuz these so called “Patriots” were rooting for the Nazi villains the entire time.
Of course those people watching the show and living in reality knew what the show was from early on.

If anyone is willing to claim that Jingai is a villain, he's barely Calendar Man.

You can basically schedule his pop-ups to whatever stupid is on the Faux Noise schedule.

He is a villain. His role models are villains and he actively works to promote their awful behavior and admires their villainy. His job is getting people to vote for the bad guy.  If that’s not a villain then I will argue you use the word with too much restriction.
Ginguy argues for the side that attempted to stop the peaceful transfer of power, that attacked the law and order they claim to love  so  much.  That smeared shit on the walls of our Capitol, a symbol of freedom and democracy world wide. He engages in gaslighting to get votes for the people supporting those actions. He is most certainly a villain.  He might be Invader Zim level but he’s the bad guy nonetheless

And no one here is falling for any of his recycled shit, are they? Even Nabs admitted his Jingai-esque posts were deliberate shit-sandwiches. He pseudo-works for losers and he follows people who have pointblank admitted that they could never win an honest election. Naraku's parrot avatar has more brains going for it. Villain attempt failed. Hence the Calendar Man comment - if you want him to be a villain the closest he's going to be is the shittiest DC villain possible since he's so in love with Joker gifs. But quite frankly, he's barely a henchman. Tell him in words how much he failed at a post and he disappears for days waiting for someone else to post something stupid on some toad hole garbage site that he thinks will somehow wow, woo, or trigger someone here and desperately hoping that people will forget how poorly he faired the last time he posted anything within the same vein.

That's not what she testified to.

It isn't colloquial semantics. It is the distinction between calling something an "insurrection" when it is not, versus a conspiracy to use force to prevent the execution of Federal law. If they conspired to perpetrate an insurrection, why were they not charged with that crime?

It is precisely what she testified to, and here she is testifying to it.

This is a lie on its face. The two Secret Service agents are both willing to testify that this never happened. Even listening to the story any sane person would have serious doubts as to the validity of the story, hence the very real likelihood that Rep. Cheney subordinated perjury.

A lie would suggest that she was a first person observer and not recounting what was told to her after the fact.  No one, in fact, has disputed that Trump did want to go to the Capitol and was told he could not.
