Anybody remember this guy?

He had a million alts, a bunch that were euphemisms starting with Justin.  But when I first joined [as] he posted a lot using JustinOther so that's how I remember him.  (I've said it before, I'm terrible with keeping track of who's who's alt.)

Yes, unless I'm blending him up w someone else in my head - he was good w html, liked to post w weird fonts and had a zorak icon as JustinCoherent

JistinCoherent!  Yes!  html everything, that was the guy.  He helped me with my signature.

I bet the mods remember him too.

His text always looked cool but from what I remember (which probably started from long after he helped you w ur sig fwiw) his posts were generally pretty depersonalized so idr much else abt him other than aesthetics, but yea I'm sure the titans like Odin know and remember more.

It's true, he preferred to be viewed as some sort of interweb enigma when posting.  He rarely ever wrote more than one sentence responses that were seemingly obscure.  I loved to reply with my own interpretation or whatever thought his posts provoked in five words or less - which became a game we played before we started PMing.  I got to know him pretty well but that was back when I preferred anonymity so we never exchanged info.  Now I kinda wished we had. 😞

I know what you mean, I'm glad that I got over myself enough to ask the person who I got to know best for their offline contact info before the og boards died, but there's def people i miss and wish i had reached out to. Hopefully you're just feeling fleetingly nostalgic and wistful and aren't bothered by this loss too much...

He ran an RP with his sister before the great RPocalypse.

Neat!  Sounds about right.

I new some of his hobbies and what state he lived in...but that's all eyezgot.

Makes sense.  I mean, that's what happened to me.

It's odd I didn't realize the impact the board community had on me until years later.

On that anecdote that meme someone posted in the meme thread saying to answer a blocked number with "Hello yes it's done, but theres blood everywhere now." and hang up has peaked my interest. I may try this, but I want to make sure it's an indian scammer type and not someone that actually might report that to the police. xD

I remember Justin.

I can remember having a Bombay Sapphire and Lime and posting in IB about the Bible as a moral guide with him. It was an interesting conversation.

 

I miss those sorts of threads, civil discourse with other people and no agendas, just the exchange of ideas.

 

 

Wistful memories I suppose.

 

Think I'll go fix myself a Bombay Sapphire, and one for Justin....

I remember and the alt justincoherent. He had a Zorak avatar. Used to chat with him all the time but this is over a decade ago. 

He also helped me with html on old boards.

We have a FB page for UEMB, but it can't hurt to have (and I'm sure there might be) more groups to organize people and keep connected.

You should totz link the boards though, I want people to know UEMB is the home base for the extended community - even for people who don't know we're still here or just haven't made the jump.

Also, there is also a UEMB discord (floated in the community folder).

Some people have Google alert set up so they know when they aer searched I think thats how that works Idk never tried itm yself

Nobody said they searched him, he said he found this by coincidentally vanity searching google for mentions of his sn anywhere on the internet and finding it, in one day

It's not the private FB group that gets me, he's always been quick...it's that JustinOther isn't his main...

...UNLESS he's on here all the time with an alt and THAT'S how he knows about it.  HE'S BEEN HERE THE WHOLE TIME! 😄
