NaBarney Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) Uhh I forget the name of my weird new cell phone provider, something really generic sounding Ok it's Simple Mobile which uses T-Mobile's infrastructure Edited December 15, 2017 by Nabloom
Guest The Hound Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 How long have you all been with them for, or who were you with the longest for? I'm doing research on something.
Cau Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Like 3-4 years I think Also had Hughesnet for a long time and that's hot garbage.

molarbear Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 I have Valornet but I think Windstream bought them out
Guest The Hound Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 I'm shocked at the lack of Comcast and Verizon. This userbase really is a niche.

Azalar Hex Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Potato has provided me quality service since 2007.

I mean, my cell phone is still technically Cingular. The name just changed.

They're notoriously bad for never actually hitting the speeds they sell you. I'm suppose to have 25 down/5 up and it always hovers around 10 down/under 1 up

Don't pay for a cell phone, just the data plan and then get a bare minimum skype account w/phone number? Or do people not know about that one.... or I wonder if that actual life hack works still..

I did that not with Skype but Google Voice for the last several years. I had a $30/mo T Mobile plan with unlimited texting and data (only 5 gigs high speed) but only 100 minutes of calling a month. I rarely even talked on the phone for more than 100 minutes a month anyway but when I did I wasn't about to pay 10 cents a minute.

Like when I'd phone bank for Bernie or make a call that I knew would take an hour I'd hop on someone's Wi-Fi and use my Google voice # so it wouldn't count against my limited minutes. When I changed to a normal phone situation this year I made a fb post explaining the $30/mo plan in case anyone had a use for it but most people seemed really confused Edited December 15, 2017 by Nabloom
Guest The Hound Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 I think I'm paying 40 a month atm for Sprint, an unlimited plan as well. However I would be fucked without them considering I ride the subway a lot and I actually get full reception underground - ironically maybe it's just my phone but the service falls apart in certain homes of my friends.

Ok I forgot about Google voice but that's good this cheat code still works lol. And yea this thread is related to Net Neutrality.

SwimModSponges Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Whatever the computers at the local library use. In any case, it isnt fast enough to use the tube sites so i have to 'bate it to google image search results before they catch me.
Guest The Hound Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 So pretty much everyone is rocking mostly 3rd party or smaller ISPs.
