I guess if they were both in high school at the same time I would be ok with it, as to me they would be each other's peers. If the 14 year old was in junior high or the 18 year old had already graduated/dropped out of high school that would rub me the wrong way. And if the 14 year old was in junior high AND the 18 year old was out of high school that would really rub me the wrong way.
EDIT: Now that I re-read that sex would be involved, that might be more problematic. I think it's fair to say generally 18 year olds are far more ready for sex than 14 year olds. I'm sure there are plenty of people who lost their virginity at 14, but they most likely lost it to partners closer to their own age than 18, thus probably feeling LESS pressure to "give it away" than a 14 year old might from an 18 year old.
Well yeah, I just described why I think its the age when people are considered adults. Physical maturity and also when people leave high school for their own lives.
And just because it is a government mandated moral guideline doesn't mean that people can't agree with it for reasons other than they don't want to break the law. Like I said, 18 year olds tend to look much more mature physically than those that are say, merely two years younger.
It's more than that. Kids like, say, 15 - 16 (maybe also 17) just LOOK much more like children than most 18 year olds. I think the reason 18 is the limit in most states is that is when most people start to look like adults. Well, and the fact that's around the age most kids are leaving high school to live their own lives...
For me it's not necessarily because that's the only place that has attractive women, but because it's practically the only place I'm even around women. Occasionally I'll go shopping, but I I've usually got my mind too much on get in-get items-get out that I'm not paying attention to my surroundings. I've been to a couple bars recently, but most of the women there were probably old enough to be my mom.
Sorry, I like to use whatever proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation that I've retained at all times. I know some people think of the Internet as a place where people should ignore proper grammar (and spelling and punctuation), but I don't.
I think I generally like 20s (younger than me) to 30s (my age)
It's kind of skewed because college is like the only place I ever see attractive women so a lot of them are probably like 18-22, but people go back to school later in life a lot these days, I did...
Well, if it makes you feel better, it got warm like a month earlier than usual, but then it got cold and rainy again for like a month (which never happens here, once it warms up, it's warm for the season), and only since like last weekend has it been warming up again.
Yeah man, I was out last night at like 10:00 PM, in a t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops, and I was like, "eh, it's a little chilly, but not bad." When I drove home I had neither the A/C nor the heater on in my car.
