  1. I have an interesting story related to this... Sometimes when I'm hungry, rather than getting food, I go for a soda. This was especially true in the past when I was on my college campus killing time waiting for my next class to start. A big part of this is that sodas are generally cheaper than actual food there. So one day I was really hungry, waiting for class to start, and trying to scrounge up enough change to buy a soda from a vending machine (Pretty sure I didn't have any paper money on me either.). I was looking for 90 cents to buy a 12 ounce can from a certain vending machine. Pretty much all the other soda machines cost like $1.25 or something for a 20 ounce bottle, except this one machine that cost $0.90 for a 12 ounce can. Anyway, digging through my back pack and my car, I only scrounge up 83 cents. (pretty much 80 cents, as the vending machines don't take pennies). Walking away from my car, I was like, fuck... than I passed a woman, took a chance, and asked her if she had a dime that I could use for the soda machine, offering her the three pennies in return (since I didn't have 10 of them). I felt weird asking this, but I have often been walked up to on campus and asked if I had change for the bus or whatever, and I would usually give it to them. So I figured karma owed me. She gave me the dime, and I was happy. So I got my soda and parked my butt somewhere to kill time for my next class. So after a while, a campus cop walks up to me, and says, "I see you got your soda." I go like, "Uh, yeah..." So he tells me a woman came to him and told him that someone went up to her and asked her for drug money, and I fit the description. Apparently a big part of why she thought I wanted the money for drugs, is because I asked for a dime, and you know, pot comes in "dimebags"... (this was quite a bit before the stigma on pot was starting to wane). So I tell the cop I used the dime to by the can of soda I was currently drinking from, and he said all the vending machines here have 20 ounce bottles, not cans, and the bottles are more than a dollar, not less. So I was like, "that's almost true, but I do know of one vending machine on campus that sells 90 cent cans". So he asks me where it is, I describe the location, and he goes, that's a pretty long walk from here. I acknowledge that is true, but I had a lot of time to kill. He then says he'll go check it out, and he leaves. After a while, he comes back, tells me he found the 90 cent can vending machine right where I said it would be, and that my story checks out, so everything was fine and dandy.
  2. I, would, pop, 500, balloons, and I, would, pop, 500, more.
  3. That's some awesome photoshop, you should work for Kim Kardashian.
  4. "lol" became sort of an acknowledgement that something light hearted was said, rather than an indication that it made you laugh.
  5. I do remember that. Try the ol' standard "lol" instead.
  6. Which gives more credence to my theory of you haven't told your mom about them yet, and less credence to your explanation that your mom doesn't really care.
  7. No, I agree with Mexo. Maybe moving to a new house because of bed bugs is a little drastic, but I find it very weird she hasn't at least hired an exterminator.
  8. I'm assuming Philles hasn't told his mom about them yet.
  9. I mean, not tan, but...
  10. The impact would've been much greater without letting us know ahead of time that its not going to be what it initially looked like. I would've been like, "Ooh, fuck yeah!... oh. :\" But instead, I was like, "Ok, looks like a boob... I wonder what it really is? A pregnant woman's belly?"
  11. Hey, mexo's back. How much she's still modding, I don't know know, though.
  12. The flip phones of the 90s / early 2000s were directly inspired by the communicators in the 60s Star Trek TV show. Sometimes TV inspires real technology.
  13. Remember the ASMB admin dumptruck?
  14. I don't mind the box, but yeah, I tend to think of Cyril when those commercials come on, lol.
  15. I don't know if I would say I "like" Flo, but I don't mind her at all, and that damn Gecko's cockney accent bugs the shit out of me.
  16. I wonder what Flo looks like without all the caked on make up.
  17. Don't flatter yourself. He's doing the Al Bundy thing.
  18. When I saw those commercials for (I think it was) DirecTV last year about their a la cart thing where you can pick and choose whichever packages you like so "you only pay for what you want," But I'm like, I'd probably want only one channel from each package, and a bunch of different packages, so would I really even save on much? I need my sports channel (NBC Sports Bay Area is the only one I care about), my two cartoon channels (CN west and CN east are the only ones I care about), TBS west, TBS east, and Comedy Central (I guess those would each go in a basic cable package?), a couple of the local channels (they often tend to broadcast the SF Giants games that NBC Sports Bay Area doesn't). Off the top of my head that's probably all I need, which I don't think is much, but I would estimate that to be a total of 4 packages.
  19. I'm not absolutely sure. NES was also my first console, so it was definitely an NES game. But my parents got us multiple games when they first gave it to us. I would have to narrow down my possible first games to Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, or 1943.
  20. You do bring up a good point. I only watch a few channels, and of course cable is usually like $100 a month or more, while netflix is what, like less than $20.00 a month? I definitely get the appeal, but eh.
  21. I just... don't... want to.
  22. I guess I'm like an old ornery grandpa being dragged kicking and screaming into the current age in some ways. I don't watch hulu or netflix or anything, I'm fine with cable. If I were to rely on Internet services like those for my TV watching, I'd have to get a second computer that I could dedicate to nothing but hooking up to my TV so I could use this computer for other shit while I watch TV.
