That lawsuit should have never been allowed to proceed. If MTG committed a crime, then indict and try her, otherwise it is the responsibility of the voters of her district to determine if she remains in office.

She ran for office in a district where a stepped-on pudding cup would get votes if it had an [R] attached to it. She has proceeded to be an absolute jackass ever since and is considered too much of an idiot to even have a committee assignment. She spends more time catering to crazy than being any sort of representative of ALL the people that she's supposed to be working FOR. She's been too busy defending and denying that anything even happened on Jan 6th because it's so very important to lie about what everyone saw live on tv. This lawsuit is being brought up by people in that state who don't want crazy on their ballot anymore.

As opposed to lawsuits from other states attempting to de-certify entire states' votes because 'not my guy' crap. :|

Part of me wonders if this MTG thing is a setup to nail her with perjury charges because there’s at least 5 examples so far.

It's like...what if the entire Rick James Real Hollywood Story sketch was just Rick James saying things that he then immediately contradicts i.e. "Yeah I put my shoes on his couch"

I can't find a non-paywalled version of the story, but the fine state of Great Value Texas' Driver License/Voter Registration system was down earlier, the last day of registering to vote in the Primary elections.

Which is the exact type of scenario that makes me think "they didn't even try to make this shit believable."

For some reason Democratic leadership still are trying to pass a multiple trillion dollar progressive wish list spending bill. They have known for some time that its not likely to pass in any meaningful way, and they know that in the face of expanding inflation it would just pour gas on the fire. Its not likely to happen, but apparently they are still trying.

Democrats unfortunately went into this acting like they had a super majority instead of a near-even split. They'd probably fare better breaking out the most popular items (Romney was very vocal on being willing to work on keeping the child tax credit permanent) and having some results that the average person would feel instead of having a massive all-or-nothing bill.

Really, if you can't fit the gist of what you want to do into a three-five word bumper sticker, you probably need to rethink it ... it helps people get it too. People understand "More money to feed kids" and "More Charging Stations NOW." They don't get "Build Back Better" because even Democrats have trouble explaining it.

Utah Democrats have taken the unusual step of endorsing independent candidate Evan McMullin in his race against Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), who has faced questions about his furious efforts to overturn the 2020 election to keep President Donald Trump in power.

Democrats voted 57 percent to 43 percent not to back a candidate at their convention on Saturday. They instead hope to lift the candidacy of McMullin, a never-Trump conservative who unsuccessfully ran for president in 2016 but fared well in Utah.

Utah Democrats back independent Evan McMullin in his race against GOP Sen. Mike Lee - The Washington Post

There was no way a Democrat was going to win in Utah. It's a pragmatic move, which I'm sure people will take not of if it's successful, particularly in places where the "D" by your name = "Death" at the ballot box.

In OHSEN, Trump had expected McIntosh from the Club for Growth to stop supporting Mandel after Trump backed Vance. The Club aired a new spot today featuring Vance quotes criticizing Trump in the past. Trump had his assistant send McIntosh a text saying, “Go f*^% yourself.”

SuperPAC commercial: "The truth is, Fake [ex-football player whomst first name rhymes with 'Fake'] is unqualified and unemployed."

Me, an intellectual: "I don't like this fucking guy either but I really hope somebody was paying attention to the 'This is what we really think of the unemployed' part."

*looks around at where I am*

"...well, anyway."

The commercials for the PA governor primary are the cringeworthiest shit I have ever seen, bar none. The Republican cast is tripping over themselves trying to out-Pennsyltucky each other. That's right, keep pandering to the high school dropout rednecks, that'll show the world!

it's all that corporate welfare the republicans give out. Why improve your company if the government is just going to cover all your liabilities?

Just keep voting for these Democrats who are always more concerned with maintaining the current structure of the rigged SC & Senate than they are with actually implementing in the real world the policies that their voters care about and this will all get fixed, somehow.

I always enjoy when you guys call them impotent yet won't vote for them to give them more power to be less impotent

They don't use their power when they have it to do any of the things they could to prevent things like abortion being taken away just because Donald Trump won an election beating their sorry impotent asses

Manifesting hard here.

Don't feel sorry for conservatives like Tim Ryan, he did this to himself. Utter debasement, and resulting in an L too

Who do you think is going to lose the midterms, and do you think this decision has anything to do with it?  Do you think the conservatives that spoke of restrictions on abortion only did it because they thought they’d be stopped by the SC?

Also impotent isn't the word I would use to describe the Dems. That would imply they want to do the x y and z issues they fake campaign on or which people project onto them, but for whatever reason they just can't, whether by their own impotence or incompetence or overly above the board nature or w/e, but no, they are consciously and intentionally opposed to those very issues that people leave the house and vote for them hoping for some representation and relief on, which the Democrats conveniently never deliver, despite their alleged best intentions and constant refrain of "I hear you."

They are laughing in your faces but hey just stick with it. "Hold them accountable" by voting for them again and again, every time.

The Dems will fail you. Even if you want them to win they won't. And whenever they win a few elections like 2020 it's always reinforced that they are simply going to leave these evil, thoroughly corrupted and supremely undemocratic institutions alone completely, let them go not only unchallenged but publicly endorsed and respected.

The Dems only remaining role apparently being just trying to ameliorate some of the fallout by crying fakely on tv whenever a particularly egregious police execution is caught on video.

Can't do anything about gerrymandering, voting rights infringements, the filibuster, adding Senate seats, adding justices, ending lifetime appointments, something, anything to prevent any of what we have been seeing for how long now? The constant degradation, continues unabated, allowed and endorsed by the Democrats, fake crocodick tears around campaign time notwithstanding

Idk whats going to happen but the midterms were already an uphill battle for republicans before this leaked. So I think they could lose some seats and give the dems a 51 majority.

Yea, abortion is really popular despite all the talk. It's like 70% of people didn't want roe v wade overturned. Anyone and any state who bans it is going to lose support. You have a really good point. It'll be fun to watch who is stupid enough to actually ban it.

Explain how to do any of that without a supermajority which the people won't give you because they've apparently thoroughly absorbed all the right wing propaganda?

You don't need a super majority to end the filibuster, that's sort of the entire point... A lot follows from there.

What's the Dems plan for winning this super majority they allegedly need to do absolutely anything? If the possibility of them winning that many seats doesn't look doable - and it doesn't - then what is the point of continuing to vote for the doomed dems within this unwinnable system?

I wouldn't insult intellectually disabled people like that. For them, it's not a choice and usually, they are better company than probably 50% of people because the whole theater of being "good" is not a thing to them. Most of them just are.

Stupidity on the other hand can be interpreted a moral failing that is from intentional decisions, often from wanting to fit into a certain crowd or a warped vision of what a person thinks they should be.

It's not allegedly, it's a fact. And if it's unwinnable it's only bc people like you won't vote for them.

Youre right though, people like me probably aren't going to vote for the Dems as long as they continue operating like the imperialist vampire petroleum cartel that they are.

And lying about it! That's really the worst part, because then you get confused kids who think someone is actually doing something about any of this when, I'm sorry but no.
