what was the worst job you ever had?

Selling the Kirby Vacuum door to door 😬

I used to just love struggling putting it together whilst claiming “Look how easy it is to use.  Don’t worry about me on the floor tangled up in the shit, I am tired and needed a nap” 😆

Man. Hard question

Tmo call center- was pregnant and harassed by almost everyone. Got a death threat lol but i loved the actual job. So doesn't count?

Tmo retail- was great until we got horrible toxic manager. He pushed one guy to suicide...he was THAT horrible..but actual job was great and loads of money

Current life insurance- the learning curve was extremely steep and the company has many fuck up due to being ran by idiots and poor training...but ive learned almost everything and its easy now. So at the beginning it was horrible but now ok

Ive never had a job so bad i had to quit.

Best job was admin assistant at a college. I ran that whole place so smoothly. One of the student advisors broke down and cried when I quit.

First cashiering job/maintenance. Horrible people, horrible pay, made me go out in a lightning storm to push metal carts. Quit that job in like a month

Waste Management the day after Christmas....My cousin and I were just trying to get some money together before we went back to college, but this was terrible....Hanging on to the back of a garbage truck barreling down residential streets in 25 degree weather while the rest of the city sleeps.  Most of the cans were heavy af, filled with beer bottles from parties the night before, or just boxes upon boxes of discarded wrapping paper.

I mean, it sucked for what it was, but for a couple of 18 year olds 20 years ago, 13 bucks an hour was too good to pass up.....Until we game across a can full of shit....Human, fucking, feces.....We both that turned around and walked to the nearest gas station to call someone to come get us.....4 hours was enough of that shit.  Luckily we got anther job on the casino loading docks....Much better because there was a LOT of down time

Christmas tree farm or the amex.

The farm was shitty manual labor and poorly managed and the people there were assholes, but i got to smoke weed on the job.

Amex though... offered to wire money to a customer who lost his card, he started screaming at me about how he wasn't "some worker going to pick up his wages," and how it would be easier to justtake his helicopter back home.

Fuck that guy.

Oh, then there was that time i illegally sent a few thousand dollars ti a middle eastern nation the United states had sanctions on.

Babysitting. I know it’s not an actual job, but was the only gig I could get at age 12-14.

One of the little girls I watched was literally the devil. She had the worst attitude and would constantly throw temper tantrums. She even kicked me once after I told her she needed to share the toys with her brother. That was the last time I agreed to watch those kids.

Honestly, both of the jobs I've had before now were kinda shit.

First job I was absolutely miserable. Felt unsupported by my supervisor and felt like if I came to him with a problem I was having it would get turned back on to me as if it shouldn't even be an issue and I should already know how to do whatever I was having a problem with. So I just started not telling him stuff that I was having trouble with or asking him any questions about anything which of course became its own problem.

I also constantly felt like I was under the microscope at that job. We had to clock  in and out using an app on our phone which tracked your location. First week I was out on the field on my own I clocked in at a client's apartment but for some reason it showed me at my house. Rather than ask me about it before taking any kind of action they came to me, write up papers in hand, and told me that I wasn't allowed to do something I hadn't even done. And rather than take my word for it and give me the benefit of the doubt for this first time thing, they basically interrogated me and refused to back down until they called the security desk at the clients building who was able to confirm I was in fact there when I had clocked in. For some reason I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I feel like this incident kind of set the tone for the whole time I worked there.

Second job. Well I've kind of complained about that too death. Working 2nd shift. Sucked. Working weekends and every single holiday. Really fucking sucked. Being forced to work a double on an hours notice. Really fucking sucked. Constantly worrying about getting hurt by a client on the job. Sucks. Constantly worrying about losing my job over an accusation or doing or saying something wrong when a client acts out or gets hurt. Sucks. Power tripping staff who will turn on you and call you a snitch if you report client abuse like they tell you to in training. Sucks.

I worked in a paper bag factory.

Checked the bags for defects at the end of the line on the machine.

Had to check lots of them really fast, was still learning the job, Asian machine operator turned the speed up well beyond my capacity to keep up, I wound up boxing a bunch of defective bags, it wasn’t really my fault, but he blames me and compares me to the women on morning shift, as if their gender had everything to do with their work performance and not how long they had been doing the job. I wanted to hurt him for being a misogynist piece of shit but he was a sad little old man.

Long story short, I had to help a piece of garbage make garbage and it made me feel like garbage.
