Once I did though last spring I've been hooked. It's dumb and it knows it, and there's a certain beauty and hilarity in itself. Definitely not the worst comedy series I've seen.

When I first started watching it, it was definitely the Belcher kids--Louise and Gene especially--that made the show for me. But watching regularly over the years I now also really like Mr. Fischoeder, Bob, and Teddy. Such great characters.

Some episodes would have the characters being bearable, but almost every episode took maybe 2 minutes for me to hate the entire family. Like the typical premise would be that Bob would talk about how he has to do something for an event, when suddenly, Linda wants to take over the project by proposing a stupid idea and then forces everyone to go along with it after bitching everyone out about what's good for the faaaaamly. As Linda hijacks the plot against Bob's will, Gene would have a non-sequitur about a pet project he's had that never went anywhere, Tina would probably bring up molesting people or making moves on Jimmy Jr., and Louise would ruin everything with her Stewie 2.0 B-plot of sabotaging everything because everyone loves the little scamps, don't they? It used to be something I'd keep on in the background on Netflix, but I just couldn't anymore after the Christmas Tree episode.

Yeah, I don't even just let it play on Netflix anymore myself. I can think of maybe 2 episodes I actually liked, but there are soooooo many I hate. Linda is definitely my least favorite character followed closely by Tina.

Anyone could say any slur they wanted, and some people did, very often. Most of the DF clique at that time was adamant in arguing against the idea that slurs and bigotry should be against the rules here, they enjoyed this type of stuff too much to give it up. Of all the envelope pushing from that early era of UE, this is one of the tamer threads tbh.
