Do you cover your camera on your laptop?

ha not quite....in the show black mirror...there was this story about a kid who masturbated while watching porn on his laptop and apparently it was hacked. so the people who have the footage start blackmailing him into doing things for fear of sharing the video...eventually it leads to him having to fight to the death......funny stuff

Yep. I also block the camera on my kindle. I'd also recommend to avoid using headphones with mics when your voice isn't necessary (many have built-in mics that can't be turned off).

I don't. I've never cared about being spied on.

I'm sure there's some government official that's been playing everyone at the office the footage of me from my webcam, just talking to myself, singing, masturbating, you name it.

I do because one time the light came on on its own after I opened my laptop back up. I think it was a glitch because it has never happened again and scans picked up nothing but still after that I was like, just in case it ever does happen.

I'd love to see somebody try to blackmail me by threatening to show people videos of me pumping my shotgun.  I'd blackmail them by threatening to tell people they willfully chose to watch me.

I do. I didn't used to, but after working in the internet security sector I will never leave it uncovered.

The director of the FBI tapes his webcam.

Mark Zuckerberg tapes his webcam.

You should tape your webcam.

I have a desktop so I don't have to worry about it.

I do worry about my phone sometimes though.

You should.

Your phone can be used to passively record audio and video to spy on you.

Facebook was caught doing it for a while and stopped.

Right now it's a big, biiig thing in the infosec industry. There's some shady apps recording your voice and datamining your conversations for advertising data.

There's a shared office space I go to for security conferences once a month, and we're all required to lock our phones inside a Faraday cage while attending.
