Yeah no. Another of those "out of context" things that's still telling for having even brought it up. Nobody ever says "the bible says gays should be stoned" without at least being on board with the idea.

I’ve seen no one, and I mean absolutely no one on the computer or otherwise point out none of these employers give a single shit about this shooting.

The foreman of the laundry basket factory in Connecticut is more than delighted just having 1 free reason to let the idle slave hand go without.

“Ohhhmmmm I don’t support people losing daeee jobs bottttttt” No you’re a fascist. You are point blank a miserable fucking fascist. You don’t DRAW LINES in the sand whether censorship’s a justified tactic. If you even have to hesitate about it then you support fascism.

The governor keeps using the term radicalized when the description suggest a very personal animosity with Kirk.  In fact, it suggests it may not even be political.

I don't think "right" or "left" are important and just diversions. As far as we know, the guy wasn't part of any organized group. I think the shooting is another story of someone self-radicalizing and conditioning themselves to take that ultimate step. It doesn't matter if they are right or left or whatever if they're someone who is in a state of mind where they can do that.

There's no outreach for people who might feel that way to recognize that in themselves and try to put a stop to, unless they want to either go to jail, put in a behavioral unit or most often ignored. There's also the access to weapons in the U.S., particularly states like Utah where people are preparing for doomsday. Plus, because of the way the freedom of speech is interpreted, there's nothing to stop people from engaging in hate speech that dehumanizes people on top of advocating taking away their freedom and their lives.

this is the fucking hill this country is going to die on.

Probably inevitable considering our terrible constitution. The framers were at their core anti-democratic and it was written as a bulwark against the will of the people. Donald Trump is probably closer to them in regards to their dislike of democracy than actual Democrats.

Don't believe me, look at all the anti-democratic things in it: the Senate, the limitations of seats in the House, the fact that the head of state and the head of government are one and the same (unlike most functional democracies), lifetime appointments, no rules in place to determine when a state is too small in population or too large in population, etc., etc. Any change is pretty much impossible with the way they set it up for amendments.

It's... actually kinda rolling back over into the hilarious to see just how blatantly obvious the "performative nonsense" is on display. Like. Every reaction is clearly communicating "nobody actually gives a shit about the guy or what happened, everybody only cares about how they can use this to their advantage."

Which, yeah, I guess in itself is a little tragic.. but also entirely on brand...

Everything that caters to MAGA and Republicans is very performative. I am bemused that there are people that buy into all the bad faith and fakeness. The only way I can explain it is that they really, really want to buy into it. If someone I knew personally tried that with me, I'd tell them they were a terrible actor.

It's kind of like Democrats trying to be "serious" people to me when poo-pooing any sort of change in the status quo and not listening to an army of paid (and wealthy) consultants before making a move ... usually in a direction that goes nowhere.

A lot of this goes away when you have an environment where you can express yourself without validation or condemnation.  An objective, neutral perspective keeps you balanced. Charlie Kirk wasn’t that by any stretch, but even if he was, he also wasn’t going to be in any position to help.  The more culpable parties are those closest to him.  Distress over having your personal connections attacked can be unsettling and traumatic, and if your family isn’t listening, you’re going to get more desperate and start taking more extreme measures.  Again, this isn’t radicalization, it’s extreme coping behavior,

well, i'm not entirely sure how to feel about this.

are we talking registered democrats? are we talking registered democrats running for office (local/state/fed)? POC's?

what exactly will this vengeance be?

“With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy these networks and make America safe again for the American people,” he added. “It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name.”

in the clip he says gov walz never asked him to do it

the day after the assassination he said something along the lines of he wasn't going to call gov walz because walz is crazy and it would be a waste of time

I keep on reading the title of this as "fatally shot dead" instead of "fatally shot, dead."

I keep reading the title as "finally shot" and I also find it very funny.

All of the above.

You are talking about a guy of Jewish background that is dead set on looking and acting like a skinhead Klansman. The more useful he is for those that are going to lynch him the second he doesn't smell right anymore, the longer he gets to be in a position of power.

If government isn't the answer then why does she keep running for office? If god is the answer, she should haul her skank ass to a nunnery. Getting locked in a cell under a permanent vow of silence would do wonders...for everyone else.

Just heard his memorial is going to be held in the Arizona Cardinals' stadium. We know it's not really going to be a memorial, it's going to be a Trump rally. Trump isn't going to skip one of his last chances to have an audience like that. It's probably going to be a whole bunch of crazy. Could either be a ramping up of political violence, so repugnant that it turns off two-thirds of the public (those who pay attention to current events anyway) that the president's popularity takes a barrel roll or both.

I know a lot of people here hate Booker but he's probably the best at ripping into Republicans in the Senate right now compared to the others who sound pretty scripted most of the time:

Quote

Booker says Trump promised to make the country safer, but says Patel’s actions at the FBI have led to the opposite.

You have pushed out senior FBI agents with decades of knowledge and experience,” Booker says. “In fact, this is the first time in FBI history that neither the director nor the deputy director have any experience with the FBI. You’ve shifted the agency’s priorities primarily to pursuing Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda.

“I believe you have made our country weaker and less safe,” Booker says, “by gutting the agency of knowledge and expertise” and having agents “do low-level immigration enforcement instead of their mission-critical work”.

“You don’t get to say that America is not safer under this leadership,” Patel says. “America is safer because of the FBI.”

Booker says he believes the US is more vulnerable to a domestic or foreign attack because of Patel’s “failing as a leader”.

In just eight months you have assaulted the institutional integrity of the FBI.

He then predicts that Patel won’t hold the job as director for much longer.

Here’s the thing, Mr Patel, I think you’re not going to be around long ... I think this might be your last oversight hearing.

“Sir, that rant of false information does not bring this country together,” Patel responds.

The exchange then descends into a yelling match, with Chuck Grassley having to pound his gavel to struggle to contain them, bringing the questioning to a halt.

I read this elsewhere, and not only does no young person i know text like this, it reads more like a story than a conversation between lovers....but wtf ever.

So has anyone picked up this roommate for questioning.... I'm not super into this anymore so i havent even seen this alleged person despite the never ending deluge of nonsense about this I'm forced to endure

I’m assuming so the governor of Utah said the roommate was cooperating but I think he  might’ve used the word “lover” and not “roommate”
