It’s not that autosaves can’t or shouldn’t be convenient.

It’s that YOU CANNOT TRUST DEVELOPERS TO NOT SELL YOU A BROKEN PRODUCT. Your game is only ever going to freeze or crash, and it will only do this during a load/save state.

 

So naturally... every goddamn one now has autosave built in as a mandatory function. Makes it even more idiotic when your poorly optimized piece of shit game is autosaving pure nothingness every 2 fucking seconds instead of being used when the fuck it should be used. Golly! How could it ever freeze during a save state!

The Real World, TRL, and the 2000s reality shows get too much credit for killing MTV, but to me, MTV was killed by the weeks-long Ridiculousness marathons it started doing in the mid-2010s.

At least the reality shows were consistent with MTV's capacity to be an entertainment hub for teens and young adults. Whether you kept up with VJs or California socialites, there was always an emphasis on MTV being a hip brand, music or not.

Then MTV and Cartoon Network moved in tandem to follow Viacom's nonsense of airing marathons of filler shows to pad out time and alienate itself from pop culture as a whole. MTV became a lurching "How do you do, fellow kids?" zombie coasting off of its old glory from the mid-80s to mid-2010s, and now we're having the MTV VMAs on CBS of all channels.

It was way better as a music-focused network, but I won't lie; I'd take the bratty rich kid reality shows any day of the week over whatever MTV is airing on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Despite my current avatar I've never been a big fan of Casper or the entire Harvetoons/Comics. I used to own a lot of Harvey Comics and they were just really boring to me. Richie Rich was the only one I found interesting. Even the cartoons are uninteresting I'd rather watch UPA cartoons over the Harvetoons.

Counterpoint: The fact MTV no longer has any power to gatekeep what music becomes successful is a huge blessing.

I've always liked the PS1 more than the PS2 with all its ugly polygons, tank controls, long ass load times ect...I just love the game library more on the PS1.

it's not actually necessary to police how other queer people label themselves in our own community, and doing so is annoying and harmful. i wouldn't think this is that unpopular but I've just had my reddit account suspended for "promoting hate" for saying exactly that.

Super Ghouls and Ghosts > Super Castlevania IV

Super Castlevania IV is just way too easy and Simon is too overpowered for my taste and graphically Super Ghouls and Ghosts is just better looking. I just prefer the challenge of Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

Games offering extra weapons and power-ups after you beat them are such a cop-out. Maybe give us a little something extra if you’re that desperate for us to replay.
