Gina Szanboti
He should grab the snake's head with his right hand (to give him a longer reach). If it doesn't let go of the tree, he can then use it as a rope to swing over to the branch above the lion, (which will probably kill the snake in the process), then use his weight to get the tree to fall on the lion. he can then run away while the lion is trying to get free of the branches. If the snake does let go of the tree, he can drop it onto the alligators and then just climb over to the branch and continue as in paragraph one. Should the tree prove to be ridiculously stable, he can choose to wait out the predators before climbing down. This is the best option, and probably won't take that long since the lion has clearly already eaten whoever had wielded the ax earlier. Probably the same person who chased the poor guy up the tree. 2
tsar4
The Man grabs the snake by the head and tosses it on the Lion. The snake bites the Lion and kills it. The Gators see the Lion down & sense an easy meal, chasing off the snake. While the Gators eat, the Man drops down, grabs the axe, kills the Gators & the Man is safe.

JehutyNinja
We don't know what's to the left of the alligators, the tree will fall to the left and he could land on another island over there? The problem with that is that once you land you have to outrun the two hungry crocs. Most snakes only strike once and then run away, so depending on the snake, you might be able to take out the lion, as Tsar said.
rpgamer
Alligators are usually pretty timid. Drop in and you'll probably spook them. Snake looks thick enough to likely be a constrictor, non venomous, and too small to be a man-eater besides. No threat. The lion, though. With a muzzle like that, could potentially be a chimera. Which could explain the usage of the axe. Threat level unknown. Probably best option is a feint and go for the axe to stand and fight.
PhilosipherStoned
Just grab the snake and throw it at the lion, but I mean is it a black mamba? A boomslang? Chances are in that ecosystem it might be packin' so there you go. Sorry snake, but I didn't spend my childhood playing and even working with venomous snakes for nothing. They are a bit less timid.

Dark_Cloud_Overhead
Simple. Lion picks up the ax in his jaws, then flings it so it cuts off the snake's head and hits the guy in the tree. When he falls, step on the gators, grab him, and jump back onto land and trot off with his meal. King of the jungle baby!
Doom Metal Alchemist
Grab the snake, choke it to death. Fall into the water (which is most likely very shallow due to being right on the shore). Use the snake to whip the gators to death. Do the same to the lion, or whip it to back it off a little, grab the ax, and kill the lion that way.

I took it as he was the one himself who was in the middle of cutting down that tree with the ax when the lion came along and chased him up the tree.
