Why aren't you at church?

Some people call themselves Christian but say they only believe in part of the bible. The way I see it, you either believe every last word of it or none of it, and that's me. I believe in every last word.

Back in my first month working at my job, that was exactly what this one guy spewed, it quite literally being the second time I've ever talked to him. Throughout the district I work in, this guy is known by all of us for being a major, MAJOR koolaid drinker.

Christians tend to be hypocritical devils who satanically abuse and ostracize anyone who refuses to convert. Like, seriously, they will make a concerted effort to drive you insane so they can claim you’re possessed and further enable their own confirmation bias. These people are fucking insane. Most of them, anyways. The naive & innocent ones who are ultimately working for the bad ones in their naivety are too hard to listen to...

With my work, there's this one guy that works at another building that I might end up sent to that I'm not looking forward to working with. From what I've heard the dude's a complete ass, and he's another person that's drinking the koolaid. This isn't the same guy I mentioned in the one post above. My buddy worked with him for about a year, and he told me about how apparently the guys son was having religious doubts, and instead of talking to him about it like a normal person, he responded with a "HOW DARE YOU!" which I'm pretty damn sure just resulted in making his boy an atheist.

As for me, I would fall into the category of one that doesn't believe in the god as written in the bible (I think the bible is full of shit to be honest, and either made up entirely, or any natural occurrence was blown out of proportion), but I still believe in a higher power.

I believe that everything is relative and that higher and lower are just ideas we made to entertain & distract ourselves.

How do you "go" to something you are?

This is a fundamental example of one of the ways the Bible is taken literally and way too seriously. Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven is in all of us and somehow some asshats got the notion that people are inherently bad from the get go and must be slowly exonerated through strict conformity, an exoneration that never really comes as their neighbors they were supposed to love (agnostics and such) publicly scrutinize the mistake itself, detracting massive amounts of power from what could otherwise be a constructive group of people... then they blame their neighbors and do nothing to correct their own mistakes...
