And they wonder why they can't make more money? All that shit is overkill and has been for the last 15 years. That's partly why I refuse to go movie theaters anymore. Too many remakes, reboots, Marvel, and DC Comics films.

Even though it's not a part of Marvel or DC Comics, I am so glad that Hollywood filmmakers are not remaking The Crow. At the risk of sounding like a fangirl of Brandon Lee's and The Crow, that movie needs to be left ALONE.

I'm just tired of the new Batman and Superman movies.  They're not nearly as good as

the DC Films I grew up with during the 80's and 90's.  The trailer for SHAZAM! looks good.

Wonder Woman was a great film.  I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few who liked Suicide Squad.  I think all the the

hate it gets deserves to go to Ghostbusters 2016 instead.  That movie should have been a bomb instead of a disappointment.

Superhero films and animated films are pretty much all I watch so I'd never get tired of them.

I liked when Tim Burton directed the first 2 Batman movies from the late '80s to early '90s. Warner Bros didn't want him filming the rest of Batman Forever (even though he was already in the middle of it) and fired him at the last minute.

Because Warner Bros fired Tim Burton, Michael Keaton refused to reprise the role of Batman. This led to Val Kilmer playing the part. I liked watching the first 3 Batman films because they were meant to be campy like TV show.

Since I cannot stand George Clooney, I refused to watch those other Batman films. I have yet to watch Christian Bale as Batman. After watching him as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho, he makes my blood run cold. This is coming from a Horror fan. LOL!xD

You're not missing much with the Christian Bale Batman films.  Heath Ledger was awesome as The Joker,

but the female leads were so annoying that I was rooting for the Joker to kill one in the second movie.

Christian Bale wasn't nearly as good as Michael Keaton.  I didn't know Warner Bros. fired Tim Burton.  That was a huge mistake.

I like the third film but it would have been so much better with Tim Burton and Michael Keaton.

Well, it's great to know that I didn't miss much over the last decade. Years ago, critics compared Heath Ledger's death to Brandon Lee's but their deaths were nowhere near the same.

It seemed like more critics and fans were hyping up the more recent Batman films because of Heath rather than Christian. Judging by the movie trailers, these other Batman films looked more dramatized.

The original Batman franchise was not meant to be serious. That's another reason why I haven't invested time or money to watch the newer films.

Brandon Lee had a strange death. Its so strange how the gun which was suppost to contain blanks didn't.

Actually, the comic book author, James O'Barr explained the cause of his death at panels years ago. When The Crow was being filmed, there weren't any professionals to supervise the props. James O' Barr learned there were, as he called them, "hill billy electricians" managing the gun props.

After hours, they would sneak the guns off the set to go shooting with them and someone hid a bullet inside 1 of the guns because his dumb ass thought nobody would notice.

Michael Massee, who played the character Funboy, shot the gun and accidentally killed Brandon Lee in the process of acting in their scene. Massee carried that guilt for years and stopped acting for a very long time because he was traumatized by that incident.

He really is not to blame for Brandon's death. Those electricians are to blame as well as the person, who hired them to be a cheapskate.

Speaking of Michael Massee, I Googled the actor just a few minutes ago and discovered that he died from Stomach Cancer on October 20, 2016.:(

yeah same thing just happened to me too i didn't know he died. (michael massee)

Yeah not that it matter but to be technical something slightly different happened with the bullet in the gun. it wasn't a real bullet. a real bullet got lodged in the barrel of the gun, and a blank got loaded behind it.

It still doesn't changed the fact, that no professionals were hired to handle the guns and that them sneaking the guns off the set to go shooting with them killed the star of the movie.

Because of their antics, an actor, who was about to make it big, was killed and his family, friends, and co-stars were left traumatized and grieving. They had to stop the production of making The Crow and if memory servers me right, they changed movie productions.

You think Brandon had a big movie career coming?

Also the other crow movies sucked.

Yeah, Brandon Lee had been in other movies in both Asia and Hollywood. Had he not been killed, I believe he would've been in more movies after The Crow.

As far as the other movies, I only like The Crow and The Crow: Salvation. City of Angels only had a decent soundtrack. Otherwise, the rest of the movies sucked ass.

Years ago, I watched the miniseries The Crow: Stairway To Heaven. Mark Dacascos played the role of Eric Draven.

The Crow is an awesome movie. Everything else is kind of lame honestly.

About the only remake/reboot I'm interested in is the Spawn reboot, but that is because Todd MacFarlane is at the helm of it.

Hollywood sucks otherwise, with the possible exception of "A Star is Born". The idea of Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Sam Elliot and Dave Chappelle all being in the same film is so out there that I might have to go see it.

Are we talking the animated movies?

I mean, surely we are, since they're the only good ones DC puts out...

are you telling me that Batman and Robin wasn't a cinematic masterpiece comparable to The Seven Samurai?

DC has lots of issues. Biggest is identity. They want EVERYTHING to become Batman, then move away from it. Then, they don’t know how to have each hero be their own story or have identity. Second is reboot syndrome. They constantly try to original story the fuck out of us, instead of letting the shit lie and move on. Marvel figured it out. They let the artists (meaning the directors and writers) do their job, and just expand without interference. DC (and by extension, Warner Brothers) need to stop fucking with the program and just let the universe get built. Let the characters have flaws, and move on.

DC likes to make movies with irratic or otherwise trite and insane plots and dress them up in their signature, dirty, PS2-era special effects. Just feels like they so badly want to be cool and prove how much better they are than Marvel all while explicitly riding Marvels coattails. It's like DC is in a jacked up pickup, revving their engine at the red light, and in their head they're gonna race Marvel. But Marvel, none the wiser, consistently keeps blasting past them, making DC all the more furious and eager to look cool.

Speaking of comic books, Brandon Lee, James O'Barr, and The Crow, if anyone is interested, I could share James O'Barr's autobiographical video in Arts & Literature. Someone uploaded it on YouTube in 4 different parts.

Even though it has been a week, since the time this thread was made, let me know if you are interested. :)
