Still Me Posted September 14, 2017 Author Posted September 14, 2017 What quart size do you currently have? 4 1/2
Ginguy Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I like the oven set to 250 myself, but a crock pot is great for beef chuck roast or boston butt.
Inori Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I got a crockpot a few months ago from my boss. I love it. I mainly use it for chicken and dumplings or chili.
katt_goddess Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I am 'patiently' waiting for the days to actually get cool enough to crack out the crock pot and start making beef stew and chicken-in-a-pot to freeze for winter. I'll have whole weekends where that thing will be bubbling away on the counter and making everything smell like edible foods.
Sawdamizer Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I got the Ninja 4 in 1 Slow Cooker.... but Crock Pot is shorter to say.
Still Me Posted September 14, 2017 Author Posted September 14, 2017 I like the oven set to 250 myself, but a crock pot is great for beef chuck roast or boston butt. yeah i love pot roast....and i have this big ass one in the fridge that will fit in my crock pot....but it doesnt leave much room for all my accouterments...cause i can make mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and caramelized onions....but it tastes so much fucking better when you cook it with the meat
1pooh4u Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 My boyfriend has been nagging me to use ours on a turkey breast....I can follow a recipe and shit but, lol....I dunno :catlol I like the idea of setting it and just going to work but with my luck something funky will happen to the electric and I'll come home to a burnt out shell of an apt :catlol

If I make actual chuck roast I love the oven with the veggies in the big roasting pan.

Still Me Posted September 14, 2017 Author Posted September 14, 2017 At least it wasn't this https://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajmadison/GARF19XXYK.html I got that for about 800 on clearance originally 1600 why.....why is it on wheels
Misaka Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 why.....why is it on wheels It's an indoor outdoor fridge It's more likely to help clean underneath it Remember clogged coils shorten a refrigerators life
Misaka Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 At least it wasn't this https://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajmadison/GARF19XXYK.html I got that for about 800 on clearance originally 1600 Ah I should tag Rogue_Alphonse[/member]
Still Me Posted September 14, 2017 Author Posted September 14, 2017 It's an indoor outdoor fridge It's more likely to help clean underneath it Remember clogged coils shorten a refrigerators life i think the only think im interested in buying is a chest freezer.....but alas....not until i get my house
Misaka Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 i think the only think im interested in buying is a chest freezer.....but alas....not until i get my house I have that as well but as an upstanding freezer
Rogue_Alphonse Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Ah I should tag Rogue_Alphonse[/member] Probably $2,000
Misaka Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Probably $2,000 It was retailing at 12–1800
Rogue_Alphonse Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 It was retailing at 12–1800 Yeah I am getting a used beater for no more than $100. I even have looked at upright freezers (because I can swap the thermostat with a fridge one to keep it at 34-36 degrees) but all the cheap ones used the cooling coils as the shelves, defeating the kegerator idea.
little_girl_lost Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I like the episode of American Dad where they use the slow cooker for many days and get sick. :it: I didn't get that. If the crock-pot was kept on and hot, how did they get sick?
Still Me Posted September 14, 2017 Author Posted September 14, 2017 I didn't get that. If the crock-pot was kept on and hot, how did they get sick? :D thank god im not the only one...i didnt get it either
katt_goddess Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I didn't get that. If the crock-pot was kept on and hot, how did they get sick? They kept cooking the pork long past any possible edibility. Even if it was kept warm, past a certain point that warmth would have only added to the decomposition going on. Pork is one of those meats you can't play with because it really likes it's diseases. I would think the bigger issue with that episode is why Snot would be interested in eating pork products since he's Jewish.

Houdini Splicer Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 i honestly havent ever heard of a crock pot starting a fire....i mean mine is old as fuck so i dont trust it....but the newer ones have fail safes... That's how an uncle of mine died. His shorted out when he fell asleep/passed out drunk and started a fire. The fire didn't kill him, though. They got him out before then. He died due to the smoke inhalation. So, it's rare, but it is possible. I love crock pots. Pressure cookers are pretty awesome, too.
Ginguy Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 really? i do bbq in the oven...same with chicken roasts....but when it comes to round roast...gotta go crock pot I find that a crock pot keeps more moisture in the meat for shredding. It makes saucing a lot easier. If I am doing a dry rub style BBQ I go for the oven.
Chapinator_X Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I like putting the dope in the crock pot pot.

scoobdog Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Actually, had a stew made from the slow cooker today. It was amazing.
Houdini Splicer Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 omg that's so fucked up No, pressure cookers are great. Oh, you mean my uncle. Yeah, it is, but so is breaking into your recently deceased father's house, twice, stealing everything of value, and selling it to fund your alcoholism. Karma's a bitch. Even so, he didn't need to go out like that.
