I always expected to see it spelled "oop." Idunno wtf "ope" is.

Idk how familiar you are with your coastal bathymetry, but there's a neat little feature called the Charleston Bump, a shelf that kinda just juts out into the Gulf Stream right off of SC. It's what commonly assists with the seemingly serendipitous curves hurricanes make on approach to the area, with the sudden change of depth, the GS kicking out to open water, etc.

I don't keep track of these ever since I moved off the east coast. But my experience was, unless you're within a pretty close range to the eye wall, it's nothing to get too worked up over. With some other extra factors to consider, like size of the wind field, surge, if you're actually on the coast, how fast it's moving, which could determine how much rain sits on you causing flooding, etc.

flcl3 FLCL Alternative Episode 1 Discussion

Disagree. This was a pretty solid episode. Established characters well enough that you really feel their friendship. It felt pretty natural. My only real complaint is not understanding why MM sent the robot. It wasn't even the usual Haruko trying to pull something through, it just kinda dropped in for no reason. I'll hold out hope that future episodes may come to explain, in some way, why that is. -
Pop Team Epic Episode #10 Discussion...

This show really only seems to work with the short gag skits. The long form shit really just weakens everything. -
The greatest thing to ever come out of the ASMB.

This is the internet age. There's no such thing as weird kinks anymore.

Circumcision is kinda fucked when you think about it

I mean, more importantly is how often that shit gets botched. I don't actually care to look up stats, maybe it's not all that high. But risking actual lifelong mutilation just so they don't have to learn how to wash properly seems a bit unnecessary. Also interesting that nobody has yet brought up the point that the only reason it became so mainstream was because of Kellogg. The corn flakes guy. -
This one probably cheats by using a song inspired by the anime to begin with.

I'm so fucking sick of Queen. They were never something I sought out before, my music tastes are far off the beaten track, but at this point, I've heard enough Queen to last the rest of my life. And probably every other "classic" artist or group or whatever. I seem to be the only one at work that appreciates actual variety. At least I discovered Pandora has Koji Kondo, so I've managed to force in some video game music once in a while. But it's still Pandora, and it's still shit at variety.

I loved this week's throwback to the Jacket music video. Plus just being back at the compound. Had the weirdest feeling it was going to come up again. But I may need to rewatch all the Helper scenes after that final reveal. Although I think all it really meant was that Rusty wasn't exactly original with his cloning kids idea.

So, basically, the tv itself needs a "find remote" button that makes it beep or vibrate or whatever. But then remotes just gotta be designed with speakers or motors, which seem largely unnecessary. And having to get up to press the button seems like it defeats the point. Honestly, fancy modern tvs should (and maybe even do) just use an app or something on our ever present phones. Some older generation phones (Galaxy S4-ish era) came with IR blasters that allowed you to utilize universal remote apps, allowing you to control any tv (or any other device) anywhere you go. I always wanted to try that out at Best Buy or something. And in fact did use it sometimes at a few eateries that had tvs playing something I didn't want to listen to.

Honestly, that seems like one of the first features that should've been added to a voice activated remote.

Because "wholesome" and "drinking" have literally never gone together.

I continue to hold my opinion that you are a ticking drama bomb.

mha My Hero Academia Season 1 Marathon Discussion!!!

So, a thought. If All For One's power is transferred by consuming DNA, what does that mean for all the hair and skin being shed constantly? Or the blood spitting gag? Are there super powered bacteria now after chowing down on that? If the bacteria happen to be eaten by some small animal, does that animal become super powered? Can it pass through the whole food chain? Does it spread? -
They'll just ruin your efforts by getting banned for something else soon anyway.

Yess. The AB Special is how I used to do it. And damn, do I miss it. Haven't done that in years. But the results were pretty good. Mostly, I just loved being able to make jerky that's easier to consume than store-bought.

naruto Naruto Shippuden Episode 216 Discussion

This weekly clipshow has gotten so bad, I literally didn't realize they were back in present day fight after the commercial break. It took a few minutes for me to realize, "Oh, wait, I don't think this was how their original battle went." Also, ffs Kakashi, "That jutsu won't work on me," and you just believed him? Damn, dude, that just seems like a stupidly easy way to get you to not try anything. The last person you should be believing is the guy you're about to attack. -
Maybe they just need a visionary like you to pitch the idea. This is your big Hollywood break. Put them writing skills to use. Maybe you could even direct.

This seemed like the biggest flaw of the movie. Soon as I saw she was involved, figured it wouldn't turn out very well. Nothing against her personally, but her comedy sytle ain't my cuppa.
-
Nah mate. Next time they meet, she should just show up looking like this.

I just want to know what statement the piece is trying to make by having the doctor hold the can the way he is. It's like he wants it to get covered in shit.

My only hope is, much like Iggy, the writers kinda completely forget about that little quirk and it just fades away. (I posted rather late to the last finale thread, bringing up that point. Iggy gets introduced, is all "he pulls hair and farts in your face, and is nanners for coffee gum for some reason," and then he just kinda fades into the background mostly)
