  1. From my last purchase, the important part I remembered, basically just stay away from anything "flagship." The mainline stuff, the things everybody knows because they're the only ones to get all the ad space and shit. For galaxy, that'd be the S series. The number of people that will actually ever utilize the top-of-the-line models to their fullest potential is probably triple digits or less. I personally like hitting up mid-range models, the A series. Some hardware compromises you'll probably never even notice, saves big money. Then I think there's some region specific lines you wouldn't need to worry about.
  2. Followed up by some weird in the weird way. Seriously.. this one hurt my brain. This was a "that's enough internet" moment. I thought it was, like, a weeb parody band or something?? But, near as I can tell, they maybe actually are in Japan.. and judging by comments, clearly have a Japanese audience.. but listening to them utterly failing, and I mean not even trying to sound remotely Japanese is a mind break.
  3. Weird in the best way, something so unique.
  4. You guys had it in your basic package?? Last few areas I've been to, it's been in a premium package for a long while now. Big contributing factor for me just cutting loose.
  5. This is undeniably praiseworthy. I'm watching along/ahead off of Toonami now that it's been picked up here. While I get the draw (lol, pun), initial impressions were a bad feeling that this is another one that starts off with an eye-catching premise, but the story, whatever it is, will lack a clear end goal. Feel like I'm getting burnt out on these shows that start out with potential, but end up taking too long to tell their story and it all just fizzles out.
  6. Would the format have even worked if they dragged it out for 20 minutes? Surely you'd just end up with a soulless cash grab. But. In an era of Shorts and TikToks and so forth.. I could totally see that finding a new audience.
  7. It's almost disappointing that a bot is able to recognize satire better than a lot of people we've seen read a VirtualSatyr story..
  8. Stampede.. took some getting used to. Wildly different animation style. Major loss of that iconic soundtrack. But, given the chance, still tells a pretty good story.
  9. Only recently realized how badly I dropped the ball on this one.. I'd largely written this off as out of reach without cable, since it wasn't on CR (and I'm not subbed elsewhere..). And just remembered. The [as] app does eventually offer eps to watch for free. A bit delayed. But eventually. Kinda looks like maybe some of them have already shown and are now locked, tho. Maybe get to watch the first episode at least....
  10. Discovered a new genre today: Chap hop
  11. Kung Fury 2 needs to escape legal hell and release already, dammit.
  12. Worth it for the 4 minute drum solo
  13. Obviously her eyebrows were burned off by the blue flames. Cuz everybody's gotta have some reason to be connected to that event so they can hold it against him.
  14. Some days, youtube just kills it with the wild recs
  15. Does VirtualSatyr count? Wildly entertaining how he could rile some people up despite how over the top his stories were. Maybe DA EXPLOSIONS. I keep trying to think way back, but everyone I come up with that got people angry were just classic Ranters back when Rants was full of angry. I sorta seem to recall Mirage_Knight turned out to be a piece of work..
  16. Not quite as exciting, but if you also want to help with fish science, there's also the FathomVerse app.
  17. The only Archie Comics I ever read was the Sonic comics.. Now there's some untapped potential that neither the games nor the cartoons ever fully tapped into. Maybe someday we'll get a proper adaptation... (but probably not because lawsuits.. of course).
  18. Every once in a while, the Algorithm just nails it. Saxsquatch. Does not disappoint.
  19. Only a little surprised they're going with another sequel system, given how much of a disaster the Wii U was.... Guess they're banking on that "2" making it much clearer this isn't just the same thing in a new package. Personally... yeah, if I'm gonna buy another system, it'd probably be Steam. I usually really enjoy Nintendo first-party games, but Zelda and Mario were such departures that I don't really have a lot of optimism or anticipation for future installments..
  20. Now, I wonder if it's possible to get us an update to allow for bluesky embeds.. (assuming that's even a simple thing to begin with).
  21. I finally played/finished this game myself. And. That was a story. I don't even know if I can manage to organize all of my thoughts on it. Just, loved the use of themes running through the entire writing. The moments of Kratos showing real vulnerability were tragically beautiful. All of the deep unspoken fears, the doubts, the growth. A classic Hero's Journey, start to finish. I think, ultimately, my final thoughts are this: This story is a lot of things from a lot of angles. A man learning to be a father, a son growing into a man, family, fate, love, loss. But. What I think the true crux of the story is, is a journey of healing. The whole end of the world fight for survival just seems to completely take a back seat to watching Kratos work through his trauma, while trying desperately not to pass it on to his son.
  22. I think I've been wearing the same pair of glasses since.... I think literally since before I joined ASMB...
