Weird shit from the weird side of youtube
rpgamer replied to rpgamer's topic in Arts, Literature & Music
Followed up by some weird in the weird way. Seriously.. this one hurt my brain. This was a "that's enough internet" moment. I thought it was, like, a weeb parody band or something?? But, near as I can tell, they maybe actually are in Japan.. and judging by comments, clearly have a Japanese audience.. but listening to them utterly failing, and I mean not even trying to sound remotely Japanese is a mind break. -

Weird in the best way, something so unique. -
So, is the SCOTUS Looking to Destroy the Country….
rpgamer replied to 1pooh4u's topic in Current Events
The pessimist in me thinks the country's kinda fucked until further notice, until/unless we can actually rewrite, or at a minimum amend, the constitution to enshrine protections etc etc... which feels like a not great situation to be in when clearly half the people in power would take that opportunity to further strip protections etc. It's like we need pulled kicking and screaming into the modern era. Like.. I'm sorta at least hopeful that the march of progress is inevitable, one small step at a time, no matter how much gets thrown in the way.. I just don't feel entirely confident in our capacity to remove those obstacles as long as half the damn country is convinced we don't need to change ever, and in fact we need to stop changing and also undo any changes we've made. -
Elon Musk now owns Twitter, apparently trying to run it into the ground
rpgamer replied to Jman's topic in Current Events
Seems optimistic, given the known factor of government (especially military) wildly overpaying for supplies, as well as dealing with Musk, who's sure to squeeze as much out of any potential deal as he can to make himself look better. -

Sadly, yes. Anything to make it the taxpayer's problem. -

[insert title here] 2025-26 Election Cycle Thread
rpgamer replied to tsar4's topic in Current Events
Realistically, this feels kinda unlikely. Sure, the walkout sounds like a "good trouble" moment, and sure it's effective short-term. But. Four months? Even setting aside the logistical likelihood.. idk, just, actions like this always end up feeling performative on the dem side. Make a show of it, raise some funds, and then pack it in when the news cycle moves on and inevitably fold while sighing "well, at least we tried (but not very hard)." Also prolly non-zero odds they end up disappeared sooner or later. -
This is.. definitely one of those moments where I always assumed he had died decades ago...

DAN DA DAN SERIES PREMIERE DISCUSSION (Episode 1)
rpgamer replied to CorbeauKarasu's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
This is undeniably praiseworthy. I'm watching along/ahead off of Toonami now that it's been picked up here. While I get the draw (lol, pun), initial impressions were a bad feeling that this is another one that starts off with an eye-catching premise, but the story, whatever it is, will lack a clear end goal. Feel like I'm getting burnt out on these shows that start out with potential, but end up taking too long to tell their story and it all just fizzles out.- 50 replies

Nah, I don't think anyone actually believes there aren't any dems listed. But they're probably more likely to be people nobody cares about, possibly already out of politics, and generally people we'd all be fine completely disowning. They're scared because they have too many sitting members at risk.

Wild thought, if it was just Trump, they'd all be singing a different tune. Easy way out to wash their hands of him in a way that might still retain a lot of the supporters.

Ozzy Osbourne dies weeks after farewell show with Black Sabbath bandmates

Cemetery groundskeepers all gearing up for the flood of dark rituals about to be performed at his grave. -
At first, I thought it seemed a little weird that he'd be so concerned about being on the list. Even if he is ("if", lol), his supporters would sooner twist themselves in knots to rationalize or dismiss his involvement. But then, I guess the entire party is probably desperate to keep it quiet, not just him..

Terrible idea: Encanto parody song: We Don't Talk About Epstein.

Would the format have even worked if they dragged it out for 20 minutes? Surely you'd just end up with a soulless cash grab. But. In an era of Shorts and TikToks and so forth.. I could totally see that finding a new audience.

There's more than one image. Because there are many years. And in the additional image includes the years you evidently fried what little grey matter you ever had. You really shouldn't be using technology you don't understand.

Oh. I see what's happening now. Nobody taught it to use a touch screen with their fingers, which must've resulted in severe brain damage by repeatedly smashing its head on the device in an attempt to operate it. Severe brain damage seems like the most reasonable explanation for not understanding the idea of having multiple images in a row.

This is the equivalent of saying "I looked real close at the link and couldn't se- Oh. Right. Has probably said literally exactly that before, too. Getting dumber by the minute. Thinks zooming in is the same as opening an image preview. This is a level of stupid that should get tech privileges taken away.

This is the level of stupid we're dealing with here. Dumbass doesn't even understand the concept of opening an image preview. "Smooth brain" was being generous..

This is the best part of this entire smooth brain discussion. It hinges entirely on not understanding the definition of "subtropical" and insisting it somehow means "tropical paradise."
