  1. Life...ah...finds a way.
  2. <.< >.> Post in all the Clubs you have access to. Certain people will never see it coming not be able to compete. * * * Go away heat and humidity. You are slowing the ever loving crap out of the dry and set time on my projects. I could have had the counters cleared by now and the shoe project staged for completion. Jerk humidity.
  3. As entertaining as having an autograph book that looks like a Death Note [ because let's face it, every one will pop off at some point so any autograph book is technically a Death Note... <.< >.> ] , it does seem bad form just because. The only truly entertaining use I've seen for a Death Note at a Con was this dude dressed as George R.R. Martin. He nailed it. And whenever someone would give him the pseudo-grief over killing off some character, he'd bring out the Death Note and ask them what their name was. Fabulous.
  4. To be fair, I'll do that if there's ranch left from getting wings with a pizza in order to not waste something that probably cost me anyway. I usually dip the crust ends so it's more like bread sticks.
  5. I thought Dr Drew was MTV? Love Line with Dr Drew and Adam Corolla. I haven't really watched VH1 or MTV in probably a decade, at the least. It was all moving away from music even in the 90's and just went down the toilet after the 00's started. My cable company doesn't even carry them anymore. I think the only time I catch any of it is if I'm at a hotel and there's a clipshow marathon on MTV and nothing else is on. Then it's background noise.
  6. I just minimized the Archives, so I don't even see anything that used to look familiar and accidentally click in.
  7. I hate sudden onset nausea. It's not even 7p yet and I'm headed to bed with cold water and cold sweats and the knowledge I still have one more day of work left to this week.
  8. My cat will poop on the floor if I'm not home by 7p on a Wednesday because that's her schedule and any change to said schedule results in a poop on the carpet. She also pooped on the carpet when I changed the blankets on the bed, when I got her a new cat tree with a ramp for her achy kitty joints, and when the apartment building changed the carpet and paint colors in the hallway. Stop pooping on the carpet just because something changed. You don't have the tail to get away with it.
  9. On the old boards, I think it actually got to the point where a thread was locked at a set post count just to keep from slow loading and being a bog. So locking a big thread for being big isn't anything new, it's just not something that has ever been actively done here because it's not being a bog. But with boards being reset, it's the perfect opportunity to also restart solid topics. And spamming a new meme thread into the triple digit post column in record time.
  10. Honestly, if there's a previous thread that was hopping, that you were the OP of, and you'd rather the old one be continued until it reaches black hole depths of gravity, ask and Arise Chicken Arise. But if it was super huge already, consider making a new version. It might bring in others who didn't go near the original thread because of it being so massive.
  11. I posted boob. Also Jon Schnepp died July of that year and there was a lingering spike of people posting about that that stuck around for a bit after. And I think there was something big in Toonami that fall which always brings posting.
  12. If it means that I can eat it as a meal without anyone giving me crap for it, then hell yes melted ice cream is a soup. Crumble some cookies in it instead of crackers. As for tipping, I don't use a calculator app. My fone is potato. But when I am in a tipping situation at a restaurant, I'm fairly confident in saying I round up and tip higher than I probably would if I was being a jerk and using a calculator app.
  13. In the beginning, they didn't have the budget for much of anything hence the cheap black-n-whites that are now 100% associated with [ as ] . But they did get a message board which offered up not just 'official' Dear [ as ] suggestions but entire folders of people just posting. If you wanted ideas for the weekend bumps, all you really had to do was skim the folders to see which was the most popular topics or jot ideas down from random posts about random things that just inspired. It wasn't like they were locked only into the Culture folder with the official submissions. There was an entire community that came for the channel but stayed for the people and they all had opinions about lamps and shoehands. There was interaction between the Bump Team and Users. Hell, if you had a decent real question about something, you might just as easily get a reply on the boards instead of on tv which was just as fun as far as I was concerned. They don't have the level of interaction or inspiration anymore. Their social media presence is just sort of homogenized and the comments that get aired are often farmed from a question they intentionally put out at some point. It's hard to get to the same level of 'creativity' that made Dancing Stick and the AquaMan Dance Party bumps such strangely enticing blips on the screen when everywhere you go is a stream of the same thing being repeated over and over again because that's all the salmon in those streams are capable of anymore.
  14. The only thing that seems to have happened is the amount of time they have to spend on a bump has been shortened. It also 'tastes' like there is a shift of newer members to the Bump Team.
  15. Lived on an island in Voyageurs National Park for two weeks. Worked a summer in Medora by Theodore National Park.
  16. I was called in and went because why not. When asked what I did in my spare time to unwind, I honestly said that I watch lots of cartoons late at night. I was put on a federal trial.
  17. The way people have been talking about Love Death + Robots, I think I'm putting an old Canadian penny on that one winning. Nothing against RC but they don't even advertise if they are releasing seasons on DVD/BluRay anymore and that's a warning flag to me.
  18. Bitchcakes needs to take two old angry kitty pills every day. She gets them in her mushies in the morning where she cries for mushies, realizes pills are powdered in mushies, grumbles, and then still eats mushies because...mushies. She also keeps changing her mind on what is acceptable mushies and has issues with certain flavors. If she decides she doesn't like it but will eat it anyway, it will return to the world one end or the other. The store was completely out of the kind that she can eat [ when she wants to ] yesterday. Chewy is still at least a couple days away from delivery of the latest 'okay, I'll eat this overpriced slops for now' boxes. She has one packet of the fancy ass crap left that I picked up that she decided is absolute Hitler to get through tomorrow. It will likely still be sitting in a gross clump in the bowl when I get home in the afternoon. Just eat your damn mushies.
  19. I don't think they've really figured out a decent way to use it and it's being left up to whichever intern wants to play upload roulette. Unless they were advertising late late at night, I don't think there was too much of a push for people to check it out when they were releasing new ATHF shorts and that would have been a perfect chance to drive some attention their way. I think there was like a single sad little 'look what we did' commercial after the fact but that was about it and all that stuff was youtube specific. 'Current' clips of anything to do with Metalocalypse, Venture Brothers and ATHF can be directly tied to the eventual upcoming movies but even then, it's not really anything new-new and seems random. There was a brief moment where it seemed like they were trying to show their zest for diversity by featuring clips about local artists who paint murals graffiti-style for causes but I think there was a backlash from all sides for the weird not-[ as ] clips and they got canned as being too much work.
  20. I was wondering why I hadn't seen a 'Get Fuzzy' book in an age so I went and looked thing up on line. Turns out he semi-retired a few years ago and only puts out a new-new comic every so often just because. I am now crabby.
  21. The merger with AOL was a small tremor that didn't affect [ as ] in much if any ways since it was still only a concept at the time [ 2000 - 2001 after all ]. If that merger had changed anything, we wouldn't have known it. [ as ] started out as a late night collection of off-beat comedy and old anime after all that flew under the radar for a fairly decent amount of time that allowed them to really do stuff with the very little they had to work with. The AT&T buy out has been far more damaging since [ as ] had numerous things going for it that they no longer have due to both pandemic cocooning and the new overlords deciding they wanted their moneys-worth back immediately [ which is not how investing goes ] and resulted in numerous cutbacks and outright purges. While the boards had already been purged by then [ owing mainly to poor definitions of 'new media' and 'community' held by those in charge that didn't actually allow for knowing what either of those terms mean ] , they still had live programming that brought massive eyeballs to the site via their streaming and interactive chats. All those programs are gone now. One of the first things to happen was the cancelling of Venture Brothers despite there already being an active contract. The streaming programs themselves started to have connectivity issues too because apparently no one was really giving a shit about them working on all platforms anymore. I don't think the ones uploading clips to the youtube channel actually even interact with anyone anymore and while I don't twit or facespace, I kind of feel like any comments from anyone at [ as ] to anyone posting on those mediums are likely to be cursory, limited severely on numerous levels, and with zero potential for actual community. In short, since AT&T for sure, the little pirate-company-that-could decided to put a tie on and go corporate. What does this mean for the Discovery move? Time can only tell since it's not like there's much to completely destroy any more in order to get their personal dick prints on things while still having something to get their dick prints on.
  22. Are you living at my old frat? Pretty sure that's what they called the hot tub when the president of the frat wasn't around.
  23. I was bumped 13? times directly and numerous uncredited times because I am a horrifying creature. There were 1,437 screennames run at lightspeed on 6.4.2006 so honestly virtually anyone who was active at that time could potentially claim to have been legitimately shown on-aire. I'm not posting them all so suck it.
  24. Photo disappoint. I was expecting trash pandas on the hood.
  25. The first thread I ever officially killed in a single post was a floated thread by 'Comrad' in IB. I posted a philosophical thesis on the exact meaning of the thread that was such a swirling morass of bullshit and highbrow doctorate that Odin unfloated it because it was ruined.
