what DO?!

Invest in gas masks. My grandson is 13, and every time he opens his door, it's like that scene in The Ten Commandments where the Angel of Death arrives.

Hate to say it, but I think you answered your own question here.

But I didn’t stink at 16. Well maybe a different stink. That gummy bear body spray was popular

Ask him if he wants to impress the ladies and that might motivate him.

If my solution doesn’t work then oh well. My grandpa used to kick the shit outta my dad.

See I’ve tried that. I don’t think he much cares for anything other than his phone and band

dubious use of deodorant.

nothing will change until he wants to impress a girl which is when he will adopt Cologne or body spray as a remedy...Which is objectively worse.

He’s in high school when does that click into effect?

6ft tall, the grace of a bull and plays the fucking flute…

Flutes get a bad rap… usually because of the clarinets.  I just meant stale uniform musk permeates everything.  My duffel still smells like it 20 years on.

Oh no, no uniform. We pay $200 every year for a uniform he doesn’t get to keep or bring home. The school gets them dry cleaned. Then they have the audacity to ask for donations totaling 25k. No actual fund raising, just ‘gimme money’….

i have so much hate for his band

As a Jethro Tull fan I will not tolerate any flute slaner!

Slaner? I’m merely saying a kid his size could be playing a more impressive instrument…like the tuba…lol or drums….drums to me is more versatile than a wind instrument

probably college or later now. I had to talk to girls because the Internet didnt exist...At least not the way ot does now. These kids have way more options than to take Ls trying to get the attention of someone they like.

Mine used to get real bad because I spent a lot of my free time in my room.

I started getting self-conscious about it in my later high school days, so I took up burning incense in my room and keeping the door open.

No, it’s not the uniform… it’s everything it touches.  Back in the day, uniforms were wool which breathe.  In the past thirty years, they’ve added more polyester, either a blend or outright, and those uniforms trap everything like a tent.  Everything you’re wearing underneath starts smelling like sweat and mold.  It’s hella nasty.

You don’t want a beat off in the family.  Flutes don’t get a whole lot of appreciation, but that’s a difficult instrument to play given nobody can hear you on the field.  Mad respect.

Anyway, he should be a trumpet.

In the past 30 years? Ours were pure polyester,  and that was back in the early 70s.

Stanbury was still making all wool uniforms in early ‘80’s, but that’s not to say polyester wasn’t used elsewhere.  Before that time, you didn’t really see as many polyester wool blends like we have since.  A big reason for that is polyester has evolved as a material in the past 50 or so years, making it more versatile.  I would imagine your uniforms weren’t particularly forgiving.
