I mean.... isn't that exactly how that shitty sliding scale is supposed to work.

I don’t know so I’ll take your word for it. Sounds right.
The article made it sound like Argentina is almost done with the bad times of Milei’s policies and is optimistic about the future. Their world credit rating is up and they have a balanced budget or some shit for the first time in a lot of years.

I don’t like it. I mean good on Argentina, I guess but idw to go through, wtf we’re going to have to go through, to reach some maybe golden age. Plus the dismantling of all our checks and balances.

I mean, it was a joke....I don't actually think is supposed to work like that😂

It's just reads like more more neck stomping by the ones in power. "Hey, the people have money ....doesn't that belong to us? Let's raise our prices and blame it something other than corporate greed. Just to 180 to, ok, ok ...we got the thing that was forcing us to charge so much has leveled off, so prices can go down....but to that end, we're gonna have to let most of you go...were just not making the money to keep you.....

And the cycle continues

I don't know shit about Argentina either, but I've seen the movie several times

Musk proposed "DOGE checks" to rebate 20% of the "savings" and Trump glommed onto it. Mike Johnson shot the idea down, not that he's known for having a spine.

Might have something to do with the fact that with what they've purportedly cut so far (which is really just mostly from firing people from their jobs) the checks would get people about half a cup of coffee at Starbucks according to people who actually know math. Only way they could ever get anywhere near giving out anything close to the what they were claiming originally would be if they made huge cuts to entitlement programs and defense, so it'd be like blood money honestly.

The DOGE checks can’t ever happen because the savings isn’t really real or the amount is way less than Musk is saying. They’re gonna distribute stolen funds to tax payers, just enough to make many go “yay money this is great” over $5k checks when Musk and pals will get tens of (hundreds of) millions.  The so called “savings” is probably from not paying the fed employees that have been fired.

🤦🏿‍♂️

I swear....every damn day just get fucking stupider

I've deleted the news section from my iphone, that's helped a little. I still have my local news channel's app, that's about it.

It's not that I'm not keeping up, it's just that Trump and Musk are determined to do this North Korea type thing where they're everywhere 24/7. I can check one news source, usually the Guardian, two or three times a day to see what's happening instead of subjecting myself to constant bombardment on my phone and social media.

Disclaimer: I'm not in the business of posting false info, and I don't usually post shit I can't source or link to but I just want to post this take now before I forget. I will fact check when I get time, but It's not really the possibility that this is false that worries me.

So in the truck, on the radio I hear that Trump's plan is to gut these agencies and programs then distribute the money to the American people. I have to assume he said something to this effect because I've seen a few post on Social media about how Trump will be sending out checks (God, I hate people)

But here's my problem if he did indeed say this shit. Do you idiots at all realize that any money he will allegedly send you is worthless if food skyrockets, gas goes up, imported goods go up or stop existing, you can no longer afford to go to the doctor you barely can afford now, but can still go because of gov. programs, and the huge fact that none of this money will be coming from the elites that already haven't paid a dime in taxes.

Sure, you can make the argument that now you're in control of the money and if you don't have health insurance, or schools or food that you can do it yourself and if you don't that's your own fault, but what you morons don't get is that a lot of y'all are fucking morons ...myself included. But I'm smart enough to know I can't grow enough food to feed my family, I can't fix a broken limb, and I damn sho ain't about to fill a pothole on the highway.

Just wanted to get this out of the way....and feeling cute, might delete later if I find I got bad Intel.... Because the only thing worse than mainstream news media is the radio who is at liberty to read you a twitter feed on their 3 minute news breaks

A lot of people don't seem to understand the link between inflation and the injection of lots of money into the economy. One of the reasons the COVID stimuli supercharged it was because it went to EVERYONE, not just people who needed it to survive. There were many, many people with high incomes that didn't need an extra $5K+ that just didn't do anything with that money, they just let it sit there. It's one of the reasons that interest rates remain high, to get that excess money out of circulation. Had they set some sort of income tiers for the stimulus, inflation would probably not have been nearly as bad.

Trump's plan to "hand out more checks" would just give inflation another shot in the arm. The way Republicans do it, they'll cause some sort of economic collapse.

Is everyone hoping his heart gives out before 2028?  Because the CPAC crew is serious.

I don’t think he’ll have the support to even try again in 2028, especially if his approval ratings keep declining. I also don’t think he has the force of will to pull it off. Just look at that Elon/booger kid press conference—Trump looked weak and small. His head slumped to his chest, and he just looked old. I doubt he’ll be in any condition to lead the fight for a third term—not that it matters since he hasn’t even chosen a successor. When he’s gone, the Republicans—who already despise each other—will turn on one another, and it will be glorious.

#3 gives me a little pause.  Some of the stuff I've seen looks sketchy when you think about it.  "Like or Share if you agree" for example, sounds a bit "like farming" -ish.

I don't know if I call it optimism but I expect MAGA not to outlive Trump because:

1. Republicans hate each other and the power vacuum left behind when Trump is gone will probably destroy the party's current incarnation

2. Trump hasn't picked a successor but has appointed a lot of people with ambitions to be president to his cabinet and VP. Anyone who thinks that Vance, Rubio, Burgum, Noem, etc. are going to just step aside for the sake of Unity is fooling themselves. Then there's the ambitious outside of his cabinet like Tom Cotton and others who have more or less been molded into being a future Republican presidential candidate since they took office ... which is weird because Cotton is a robotic and uncharismatic bore.

3. They've counted on everyone who voted for them to NOT be people that need some form of government assistance to make it by, which is backfiring.

4. Trump is deteriorating right before our eyes. He can't keep hiding his age forever.

5. Trump isn't interested in the job of governing. He's lazy and wants other people to do the work for him but wants that work to benefit him personally. It's why he's allowed Musk to run rampant even though DOGE has been a bigger and bigger liability every day. It doesn't matter how many bots on social media tell you Elon is a genius at everything and DOGE is saving money, people are feeling it or scared they're going to feel it.

6. Parents will be pissed when he takes PBS Kids away.

Going to play devil's advocate.

This could very well be true but not necessarily true. Princess Tinyhands is a well-known narcissist with a chronic need to have his tiny ego stroked and told how rich he is and that was established in the early 80's. Russia has never had any problems with catering to that shallow whim. So, it's quite possible that Drumpf received the equivalent of Herschel Walker's fake police badge - Russia making him feel special by giving him a special name [ that just means 'beautiful' so that fits the ego ]. He feels special and therefore even more willing to believe their stupid shit and they are laughing at him behind his back the entire time.

Summary - useful idiot has Russian 'codename', about as useful as an Ovaltine decoder.

When the country no longer has a standard of education and employers can’t find workers because some of them can barely read, we have no doctors, children as young as 8 are working heavy machinery and we die of food poisoning and lack of safety standards I guess then people will remember why we had regulations and agencies to oversee them in the first place. But hey, wtf do I know. I never graduated from college.

But will they be allowed to remember that we had any of those things or will it be mandatory that nothing ever existed before?

If you can't read and everything you get is fed to you from a state-run tv station, the only future that the next generation will know is what they are told to know.

Between this and Musk wanting to raid Fort Knox I swear we’re all stuck inside a 007 Goldfinger RPG 😬🫠

Enough tragic and gross shit will happen that states with better education standards will demand national safety and education standards.

eventually the country is gonna hit another depression especially now that Musk is weaseling himself into the FDIC. They do pretty important shit. They keep nice and calm when banks fail and they make sure our $$ is safe

I feel like sending a massive bill to the Dumpster Administration. I don't recall signing up to be part of a dystopian movie series and therefore require not only a VERY generous advance for my time but a bunch of riders as well.

One of those is a game of Roshambo with Melon Husk. Ladies first.

Wondering how much of these "cuts" are on their way to the Kremlin.

My guess is that we're just one drive past a "misty copse" from regime change.

Apparently there were a bunch of articles about him and the KGB that went out today or yesterday and then suddenly disappeared. I tried to view one at the Daily Beast and only got the 401 page.

There's another interesting read that goes pretty deeply into all of this. I don't know if I buy that they officially recruited him and gave him a codename, but sometimes if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck... Could have simply started out with them acquiring some type of kompromat on him, or perhaps they just lured him in with the promise of business opportunities and economic assistance in exchange for him doing some small things for them at first. The more he did then, the deeper in he got with them until it became more or less a symbiotic relationship. Or no, on second thought, more like two parasites feeding off one another would be a better way of describing it probably, heh.

He's always seemed genuinely scared of crossing Putin though, so I think it's pretty reasonable to believe he's got stuff on him he's worried about being brought to light if he doesn't give him what he wants. Regardless of what's motivating his anti-Ukraine and anti-NATO behavior though, whether it's from simple admiration for Putin and wanting to be on team dictator, or whether it's actual fear of what could happen if he doesn't obey the guy who's got him by the balls, the end result is still the same. If it's the latter though, gonna be pretty impossible to make him break from backing Russia, no matter who or how many speak out against what he's doing. It's still a relief to see there's at least a small amount of resistance forming on the right against his most recent lies regarding Ukraine.

Yeah, I'm thinking Putin got his hands on incriminating Epstein stuff involving Trump.

At last year’s CPAC, Trump again shared a story about Caine—this time stating that general told him: “I love you, sir. I think you’re great, sir. I’ll kill for you, sir.” But what really seemed to seal the deal for Trump was that Caine then allegedly put on a MAGA hat, despite military protocol prohibiting active-duty troops from donning any clothing with a political message.  = shitbird.

Hegseth is gonna turn the military into a white supremacist hell hole. Firing someone just because they’re black or female is way worse than hiring someone for those reasons. These people misunderstand DEI. They aren’t allowing people into positions they aren’t qualified for. DEI just makes sure that qualified females and poc get jobs too. It’s not like in college where some people have the grades but not necessarily the test scores so they get a chance despite the scores.
