Jman Posted Monday at 07:38 PM Author Posted Monday at 07:38 PM My broker is still optimistic about a rebound but he’s put my stuff in a more defensive stance for the next quarter to be safe. But the economy is tanking, because it turns out that running on vibes, hate, and tarrifs is stupid. Honestly if the idea is to piss people off enough there’s enough goodwill towards mass infrastructure projects to employ people, they’re on their way. 3 Quote
rpgamer Posted Monday at 09:29 PM Posted Monday at 09:29 PM Nah, I'm 100% on board with believing they're intentionally tanking the market so all the stock bros can buy cheap to inflate their worth when shit settles down (i.e. when everyone realizes how bad Rs are for economy [again] and expect Dems to fix everything [again]). Just a question/matter of how easy it will be to undo what has been done, and the nature of the deeper consequences.. 3 Quote

There are already too many states trying to funnel public funds earmarked for education into private religious schools and ill-formed 'homeschools' as seen on the Aryan Network. This is an illegal power grab by someone who doesn't have the Constitutional power to do so. Only Congress can create or dissolve a Department. Something you would be screaming about if this was Biden or Harris doing all this. Intentionally creating a situation in which no one is capable of doing the job because there are no funds/not enough people is NOT proof that something never worked and should be destroyed immediately. It's a sign that the morons who went out of their way to cut the funds and the people should have been picked up by their ears and yeeted into the sun. 5 Quote

Another Rep I think a female rep from Illinois referred to McBride “as the gentleman from Delaware” they have no decency and they prove that the cruelty is the point. They don’t have any concern about “people being delusional” 3 Quote

Ok Mrs ClownShoes and what will education look like now that there’s no national standards or funding of public education? ”the states will decide what they teach” unless they’re going to teach that the civil war was about slavery, eminent domain is rooted in racism, or anything else that makes the US look less than great. 5 1 1 Quote

Master-Debater131 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/schumer-senate-democrats-votes-gop-funding-bill-shutdown-rcna196029 Democrats are going to shut down the government. By not voting on the clean CR, they are owning the shutdown. Its truly something else watching Democrats hit a point where they are now willingly shutting down the government. Whats even better about this, is that this entire thing was a painfully obvious trap that the GOP set, and Democrats are apparently stupid enough to spring is. Fetterman gets this, but apparently no one else in his party does. If the government shuts down, that basically gives Trump want he wants anyway. DOGE can just go to town slashing whatever they want, and there wont really be any way to stop them. Trump can also use the bully pulpit to lay this shutdown squarely at Democrats feet. The GOP did their job, its Democrats who are irresponsible and wont keep government open. Democrats are so consumed by blind rage that they are letting Trump get the best of them. 1 Quote

Anyhoo, if the GOP is already cutting entitlements, firing government workers, and pushing us into recession with a trade war, why does it matter if the government shuts down? Wall Street doesn’t care about the US Government’s ability borrow when there are market pressures on literally every sector because of tariffs. 5 Quote

The bill in question was written up by and for the GOP and their brand of shittery. They did not include a single dem and they honestly don't give a shit about anyone other than themselves. You might want to remind the rest of us if you were this angry the last several times there was a government shutdown since those were all caused by republicans having shit fits over something and the one during Shitler's first term was literally Shitler shutting down the government because he was told no. He claimed he was going to do it because he's such a smart guy/the best guy and then when he did it, he immediately blamed the dems and tried to say they did it while he stared at cold fast food. 3 2 Quote
1pooh4u Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Isn’t it amazing how a government shut down is always the Democrats’ fault? GOP has had the house majority for like 8 years and now they have the senate again but somehow it’s not the GOP shutdown. They have both chambers in congress and the WH. MD is just a fuckin clown doing buffoonery on behalf of the people who don’t even want her on this fuckin Earth. What a fuckin world we live in. 6 Quote
