Reddit is dying. Socially awkward terminally online weirdos, trolls, and AI all posting brainrot that no one bothers fact-checking . . . fortunately, the niche smaller subreddits are mostly safe and have effective gatekeeping, for now. The dead internet theory is real.

I heard a guy on YouTube refer to Hot Pockets as food for kids and perpetual stoners. I would probably take offense if I still ate those disgusting things.

Any time I've had a Hot Pocket since I was 17, they've tasted like the meat was spoiled.

My best friend better love me unlocking all this shit in dreamlight valley. I already did all these damn quests.

I wanna slap whoever said calorie counting was ultimately bad for weight loss. I followed that horrible advice for years. Calorie counting works better than any fad diet or wharever the fuck trends these days. People just lie to themselves.

I don't even understand what you are trying to describe. :confuse:

I miss being able to serve my pasta sauce to a group of people.  Before COVID, and everyone moved away or passed.  It's smelling up the studio in a good way, tomatoes, basil, onion, garlic, a bit of red wine, and balsamic vinegar, but it's just not the same.

Just put a June 31st on the calendar for Christ sake. No one’s going to notice.

There’s not one person who can recite how many explicit seconds Earth has existed, but we’re so obtuse about calendars where most make-believe months have a make-believe 31st day and others are 28 or 30 so your fucking rent is due faster.

Ok that's abnormal to the level I couldn't even picture what the fuck you were doing. And even when I asked in my last post asking you if that is indeed what you were doing, I really doubted I had it right.

So yeah, extremely NOT normal. :P

Chinaman

Irishman

Scotsman

Welshman

Englishman

Swedishman

Japaneseman

Koreaman

Germanman

"Chinaman" is politically incorrect nowadays, is the same true for "Scotsman" and "Irishman"? Is there always a negative connotation when using this "-man" nomenclature? Would someone from England balk at being referred to as "Englishman" rather than "English"?

Is there always a negative connotation when using this "-man" nomenclature?

Etymologically, the suffix is hypothesized to have derived from a word in the Proto-Indo-European language ("hand" = a person).  The connotation of a person as a pair of hands, in this case as in a participating part of a group, has some inherent negative connotations when not attached to a trade (such as fire-man or horse-man).  "Chinaman" would be particularly offensive because it most likely originated as a term during the period of the Californian Gold Rush and the building of the transcontinental railroad, in which Chinese laborers were defined by their status as expendable hands for back breaking and ill-paying work.  In that sense, it's a form of diminutive objectification and would have similar, but far less offensive in context, negative connotation when used to describe anybody of a particular nationality.

That being said it's not inherently offensive to refer in that way to people who would be direct descendants of users of that language group.  The proper word in English for another English speaker would be Englishman, Scotsman or Irishman.  It would not be proper for a non-English speaker like a Chinese man.
