1pooh4u
Spoiler Surprise the 27 year old won https://nypost.com/2024/11/17/sports/netflix-exec-makes-admission-after-jake-paul-mike-tyson-streaming-debacle/?utm_campaign=iphone_nyp&utm_source=pasteboard_app Everyone lost. Thought I heard Chiefs @ Pittsburgh is gonna be live on Netflix. Well good luck with that cuz they barely were able to do this. I missed half the fight cuz the stream took a shit. Tyson looks good he’s still a huge dude but after the fight he’s looked like he was going to die.
Jman
He was 58, and Paul still couldn’t put him away. Jake Paul will never fight legit contenders. 30 years ago he would have peaked in Toughman.
[classic swim]
I bought my 4th lottery ticket in a row instead of making something on what was sadly obvious 40 miles away. Whatever. Didn’t watch it.
André Toulon
Tyson was washed when he fought Lennox, that was damn near 30 years ago. I wouldn't fight him but getting beat up was kinda his thing near the end of his career. I wasn't wasting a dime on this bullshit. People still see Tyson through rose colored glasses...most don't understand the deterioration of athleticism. These are the same fools that believe Jordan could play today and dominate.
Seight
I remembered the last fight Tyson had before this was A) 19 years ago, and B) ended with him not answering the bell for the next round. So no I'm not shocked that he's, in fact, still old.
SwimOdin
From what I’ve read, I’m glad I went to sleep. Jake Paul fighting Ali next.

The sole thing that the card can say is that it didn't cost extra. DAZN would have charged $80.
1pooh4u
Netflix can’t do live events because they definitely couldn’t handle the numbers of people watching. Probably even more than they thought cuz people from outside the US were watching with a VPN.
1pooh4u
Pretty sure Paul and Tyson are friends and he purposely didn’t knock Tyson out. Last 10 seconds Paul gave him a bow instead of putting him away.

1pooh4u
Lmao this can go in the nfl thread too putting here cuz it’s relevant Netflix took a dump. They need more of something if they wanna stream football without pissing people off. Only reason I still have Netflix is cuz T-Mobile pays for most of it 😆 😆

Do people really think that? That’s crazy talk however I definitely wouldn’t want to get into a fight with Mike Tyson. He’s still built like a brick shit house.

I mostly just troll LeBron fan pages...not a big bball fan, but it's hard to troll when people literally say Jordan will come out of retirement and drop 50 on LeBron. I used to think those people were just trolling too but the more I read and the sheer amount of people co-signing that bullshit, it's a very real delusion. Some folks have too much faith in their 90s heroes.

LeBron is even getting old for sports

My dad used to watch when I was a kid and I also had a morbid curiosity to watch. I figured since I already have Netflix, so why not. Normally I’m no longer into that stuff. I like my sports violence broken down into quarters with blind officiating and annoying color commentary 😆 1

Jordan created his own myth, much like Russell or Magic, but it has legs because the ultimate crafter of self-myth incorporated it into his own. Essentially, Kobe built his legacy around an anointing by Jordan, something Michael abetted himself, which wasn’t about Kobe succeeding Jordan as much as Kobe being an almost equal who channels the greatness into his own success. Jordan might be legendary for his work ethic, but Kobe is the one writing an academy award winning animated short about it. Kobe deified Jordan to build his own legend. Ehhh, I don't really want to think too hard about it and I'm definitely not about to look for evidence to support what I'm about to say, but I feel like Jordan was deified after the 3 peat...way before Kobe hit the court. Kobe being as good as he was, and basically incorporating much of Jordan's style into his play because he truly idolized Mike was the clencher. But the whole "like Mike" phenomenon was already in full swing. Not saying Kobe didn't bolster that legacy but it was kinda carved in stone at that point. And just to explain my Bron hate, though no one asked, when he was with the Cavs, I was a fan...seeing how he made his name in the league almost instantly was a great thing to behold...but then he got out there with y'all and the ego just made him insufferable. And it just snowballed and got worse. For dude to be pushing forty and still dropping back to back triple doubles is nothing short of freak work, but I can't with his bitching and entitlement. But the whole "like Mike" phenomenon was already in full swing. I mean, sure it was. My point is that other guys were deified before Mike - none of them seemed to last. The only reason we still deify Mike is because Kobe deified him and now we're a Holy Spirit short of a fucking trinity. That doesn't take anything away from your greater point about how stupid it is to expect our sports idols to be invulnerable well after they've retired and too old to be doing the shit that made them gods in the first place. Oh, well yeah, definitely. Like I said, I troll bball pages and Bird, Magic, even Iverson come up a lot in arguments....but you're right, they are more asides than topic starters like Kobe, Bron and MJ. Wtf ever happened to Carmelo....I used to get a lot of nibbles baiting with him, did he get injured or just retired...but I see his son is going viral lately.

I thought he retired like either a year ago or maybe two. His play was decent, but, for some reason, he’s got a lot of friends in the NBA. Must be a real solid dude. -Ninja_Jesus-
The whole thing was a farce, Tyson wasn’t gonna be able to knock him out because of the paycheck (which isn’t to say he couldn’t; I believe if he was serious he would’ve gone full offensive round 1 for the knockout), Paul’s a good boxer but his wheelhouse is in creating engaging content and pissing people off. He accomplished both here.

André Toulon
It's troubling to me that anyone takes this kid seriously. Every single fight he's had is either staged or rigged. He's literally fought no one. His record comes from him beating washed up MMA fighters and other reality stars...pretty sure he beat a basketball player. I have no clue how he is called a professional boxer when he is not even ranked by he WBC. He had one chance to be ranked when he fought Tommy Fury, but he fucking lost. I don't know if that's still true, but as of the announcement of this fight back in 23, he wasn't ranked at all. Jake sets these fights up himself, he promotes hem himself, and he decides the payout himself...Then idiots flock to buy that trash. I was interested until he fought Anderson Silva....and he literally ran from Floyd Mayweather. Not fucked the fight, literally saw Floyd and took off running. Mayweather isn't even in his weight class and he's shit his pants at the prospect of fighting him. Mayweather did fight his brother Logan in a complete farce of a fight where clearly Floyd won, but it went down with no decision.🤔 That pissed Floyd off because he knew he won, but since it's not sanctioned by WBC, they got away with it. Jake has countless REAL fighters calling him out right now...willing to put their reputations on the line, but he won't take a single fight he can't manipulate. I'm fine with him doing this shit as entertainment, but it works my very soul that his stans believe he's a real fighter even though he hasn't fought a single professional boxer that wasn't retired.
discolé monade
all i'm saying, it was by decision. the man. at 58, stayed the entire 8 rounds. we old fucks still have shit to prove, i guess?
Satou Kazuma
Only reason I even tried to watched this is it's on Netflix and out of curiosity. All his previous fights I didn't care for since it was ppv and I also didn't know or care for the Logans after they made headlines for filming in Aokigahara Forest.
