so i preordered Borderlands 3 at gamestop and the guy asked for my ID. i even said "really dude, you can't possibly think i'm under 17". guy was like "yeah but i have to check anyway". like fine ok. i go to pick up beer down the road and i just pick it up and buy it, guy doesn't ask me for ID. so apparently i'm old enough to buy beer without an ID but not old enough to preorder an M rated game. i literally don't think i've been asked for an ID for that in probably close to a decade

Can’t have you being negatively inspired by violent games.

you remind I forgot to preorder the ps4 controller in rose gold today ugh

you should always preorder in the store cuz the website jacks up preorders for some reason

Meh, I had to show ID for liquor today.  It was simply because they have to key it in now....It was on my receipt "ID Accepted" with my birthday on it.

So even if you look the part, in some places you might just have to do it.

Some items you have to card people for no matter what. When I worked at Wal-Mart for a month back in 2011 there were some items where you literally couldn't complete the sale without checking ID. I think it was mostly for things that could be used as inhalants. Some guy got really mad at me one time because he was very clearly over 18 but didn't have his ID with him while trying to buy some paint thinner or glue or something.

Cigarettes and alcohol though? Didn't need to check ID. I was supposed to call someone over 21 to my line anytime someone came through with alcohol since I was under 21 at the time but I'm pretty sure I checked people out with alcohol a few times because the managers just seemed annoyed at having to comply with that policy.

Gamestop bad.. A lot of very unestablished videogame stores, and amazon good right? This is what I take from the multiple "why do people still shop at gamestop" posts. My anti-hipster sense is kickin in..idk.

I don't feel so good Mr. Stark.  *surfs amazon for anxiety meds*
