PokeNirvash
I post the synopsis for my Jam Orbital-influenced anime idea by Pierrot on 4chan's Toonami discussion thread one time, and now they pick up a show from the same studio. It's official: I invented my own meme magic. By the way, no word on whether this means Shippuden is going out the door. Jman
Why? The series really oughta have ended already.
DangerMouse
So it's finally getting dubbed. Would certainly be weird for them to drop Shippuden after finally getting to the war.

CorbeauKarasu
boo. also, shippuden isnt even close to being finished. Boruto's going to spoil a WHOLE bunch of shit. just put One Piece back, already
The1gairon
I could do without Naruto, Boruto, and Black Clover. I don't have a problem with ALL shonen! I adore the fuck out of MHA and HXH! It's just that these shows either instill in me a sense of passivity or cringeyness. Naruto has always been the one show on the block I intentionally skipped, and now we're getting TWO of em?? Sigh. Looks like another half-hour freed up for me to tend to household stuff. And that will be enough of my whining because I know what happens when I complain TOO much. OSC
No matter what my opinion of the series is (and I don't have one), I always think Boruto is a Bollywood version of Naruto. Of course, people are giving negative opinions of the show, so it obviously isn't that.

CorbeauKarasu
so Naruto only got to run through it's canonical story one time before shippuden came and took its spot and now Shippuden isn't even going to get to run one time through before Boruto comes along and spoils it. weird. OwlChemist81
Maybe if we're lucky, Shippuden will move to weeknights at 8:30 PM to replace Cleveland? That was never happening with One Piece because Toei sucks, but then again, DBS IS by Toei!
The1gairon
More likely, Naruto and Boruto will both run at the same time, leaving Naruto to complete its broadcast, and Toonami to grow one more timeslot.

But what's trickier is are we talking midnight or perhaps earlier? Believe it or not, the earliest any Naruto series has ever aired on Adult Swim is midnight, but Boruto may change that. I suppose it's possible it debuts its first 3 episodes at Midnight, but then moves down to 11:30 once FLCL3 ends. I also believe Pop Team Epic may not leave Toonami once it's done with its premiere run. It might take a short hiatus but it could be Bebop's replacement at 3 AM. CaptainStarwind
...So I spend close to two weeks moving into an apartment, almost entirely shut out from the internet, and THIS is the Toonami news I return to? I may actually skip this show. I tend not to skip shows on Toonami, but I truly have no desire to watch Boruto. Didn't Toonami say they were going to mix it up? That they were going to get anime from genres other than action? Apart from Pop Team Epic, exactly HOW are they doing that, I ask?
Blatch
DeMarco has said that more non-action shows are coming... I guess we can hold him to his word on that, because he's had a good recent track record. The thing is, even though I've skipped Shippuden every week for probably a few years now, I'm actually going to give Boruto a chance. People have apparently said it's good, if only because it's not Shippuden and doesn't have the problem with endless uninteresting filler. I hope it's something refreshingly different among the anime I watch, and even compared to the rest of Toonami.
3ngag3
Yeah, I don't see Shippuden staying on the block after Boruto airs. There's far too many episodes left, most of them a steaming pile of filler hell. Even at the expense of not finishing the story, it has to go.
Daos
Good god, an even worse version of Naruto on Toonami? Why do they do this?
The1gairon
Toonami tries to never ever take a show down even when they go into a long string of bad filler. Clone Wars was the only instance I remember them doing that. So if they put Naruto down, it won't be because of bad filler.

PTE just aired Episode 4 last Saturday night, which means we're on 5 this weekend. Episodes 6-9 would air in August, and then 10-12 in September. Even with a Labor Day marathon, we're still on track for Boruto to replace PTE on 9/29.
MasqueradeOverture
Fucking WHY?! I get it. Super's got a year left and they need some support when both that and Hunter X Hunter end, but I barely acknowledged this show's existence until now for a reason. Maybe this will get me to finally finish the rest of the Naruto manga. Idk.

Yeah, and the follow up is kinda realistic about the results (Sakura is completely miserable, Naruto has a son that hates him), but...why would I want to watch a show about that? Hey, remember the characters you all liked? Watch as they become crushed by the responsibilities of daily life, terrible choices, and loveless marriages! As much as I rag on One Piece and it never ending, it doesn’t mess with those main aspects of the characters. One could argue they’re being dialed up way too high, but it beats the alternative. The1gairon
Well I was hoping the livestream they ran last Saturday with the Boruto announcement would be added to Adult Swim's streaming archives as a Pre-Flight episode, but it's not on there still. OwlChemist81
This may all be true, but stuff like this "5 Kage" arc is probably the best part of Shippuden. I'm guessing that most of the GOOD episodes are in the first 250 though...
