Yeah, I had an experience like that about 15 years ago. The mall closest to me was already heading down the road to stagnation and the only thing you can do before 10am was either get a pretzel or put coins in the massage chair.

Auntie Anne’s and the massage chairs are always up earlier than the stores. It does feel like being trapped in an abandoned warehouse though.

Does that come with extra cheese?

On one hand, I really want to play Super Mario Sunshine again and it’s not like it’d be any cheaper to buy secondhand online. On the other hand, $60 is outrageous for a bundle that won’t exist anymore after next March. Just out of practice and principle, it’s bogus antiquated nonsense from Nintendo when other rereleases give you so much more for less. I just bought the Tony Hawk 1 & 2 remake for $40 and it gave you as much content as both games can offer with rehauled graphics. Crash and Spyro also had full on rehauls with an even lower discount. It just feels scummy to buy this and promote this kind of lunacy when it’s the only way to get access to games from over 20 years ago.

It also makes the yogurt Fage come to mind. The labeling tries to hammer on that it’s supposed to be Fa-yeh, but dumbass Americans were never going to let it go that it features three letters they need any reason to get away with saying.

The water in my house smells really bad today

If you light a safety lighter next to the water and it ignites, you know something’s going bad. -

Ok, but who in the company had the wishful thinking that everyone would just call their business “Eff Gee Tee” and not bombard them with homophobic slurs?

So you’re telling me the only way I can play Super Mario Sunshine again is paying $60 for a Switch port and having to grab it before next March when they stop making it? -
Stormy was the only one I knew ahead of time and that’s because HBO’s Real Sex had a segment on her and weird HBO sex documentaries were my only access to non-hentai smut when I was younger.

Voice actors don’t usually get their own Funko Pops, let alone disgraced ones. If he wanted to get that fashion nightmare Pop figure past the custom commission phase, he’d have to submit it as a character from an obscure Clamp series. He can even make up his own backstory because he wouldn’t need to ask the CEO of Clamp to make his character straight.

I guess to me, it felt distasteful since like it trivializes real world issues to equate them with anime adventures. But then I started reading reactions to it and felt bad. You have black fans that are genuinely touched that the same people who introduced them to DBZ and Naruto have their back. Where seeing these characters remind them of the inspiration they might’ve gotten from the adversity they face, especially when characters like Goku and Naruto have overcome issues with their personal identities. I can be cynical about the editors conflating a cartoon character being sad with racial inequality, but I’m a lot less inclined to die on that hill when I read comments where fans are moved that they could see themselves in the anime characters that appear on Toonami.

Watching through the TOM commercial does remind me of the script I wrote out from the “Will T.O.M. and S.A.R.A. address the protests/riots?” thread. It’s nice to hear the character addressing our country’s issues with race and show open support for BLM. But the dude who directs these segments couldn’t resist adding awkward anime clips to an otherwise serious conversation. Did they need to wedge background clips of ambiguously black anime characters or Naruto characters being sad into the speech? Just because Samurai Jack knows what it feels like to be upset or the Fire Force crew can come together to face adversity doesn’t mean they have any kind of poignant parallel with racial inequality. It draws less attention to the message and draws too much attention to which anime/cartoon clip they’re going to pick when TOM talks about black people getting falsely imprisoned or disproportionately murdered by the police. You know you can just have TOM give his message from the chair without the needless clips trying to equate real world issues with goofy cartoons.

Anybody else already getting overly excited for Halloween?
Chapinator_X replied to Killa Ounze's topic in Free-For-All
I’ve been watching horror movies more often and it’s been a nice change of pace from holding off til Halloween. I just saw Candyman for the first time and it was pretty awesome. -

Shoutout to whoever added a few extra onion rings to the fries I got 18 years ago. You didn't really have to, but I appreciate it.
