If he ends up being the spokesman for a condom brand, then that’d be just about all of them.

A Final Fantasy IX animated series for kids has been greenlit
Chapinator_X replied to 3ngag3's topic in Anime & Manga
IX is also a weird one to adapt into a children’s film considering how it hid much of its darker themes of loss and acceptance underneath it’s cutesy visuals. I think VIII, X-2, and maybe V have been the closest Square has gotten to a FF that didn’t explore the main characters dealing with their own mortality. But between this and the World Ends with You anime, it is interesting how animation is mining through older Square properties nowadays. -

It's a counter-attack! Female Hawtness Thread MK. IV NSFW
Chapinator_X replied to Satou Kazuma's topic in Anime & Manga
Some guy’s tier list of best girls in DBZ reminded me that I had a huge crush on the Snake Princess when I was a kid. Thinking about it, that might’ve even been my first weeb crush. -

Kind of at a standstill since I beat Yakuza 0, Tekken 7’s story mode, and Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir. I’ve mostly been playing games for completionist stuff at the moment like grinding through Hades to smash Thanatos or reunite some of the other separated couples. I’m also in the process of trying to get the costumes for the PS4 Spider-Man game, and want to try New Game + for P5 Royal. In the meantime, my backlog is looking like Pokémon Sword, Odin Sphere, BotW, and FDC: The Girl Who Stands Behind.

I guess this is what Peacock can scrounge up after Netflix and HBO Max ended up acquiring all the money makers. Cromartie was their best acquisition, but Retrocrush has such a weird catalog of relics that I can only see older otaku giving it a whirl. It’s more similar to the Hulu/Amazon route of having anime for the hell of it, as opposed to trying to promote it as a viable option for binge watching.

Yashahime: Princess Half Demon to replace Promised Neverland

I was just saying not too long ago that William Shatner was probably the celebrity that people have spotted the most because of how many cons that dude does.

What's your favorite soup base or rue?
Chapinator_X replied to bipolar bear cub's topic in Foods & Drinks
Gumbo, Butternut Squash, French Onion, and Curry Ramen. -
That’s a tough one. I might end up going with a round cause a large thin slice or margherita is my go-to. Then again, a Sicilian or Detroit square pizza is hard to beat.

Lord of the Rings is getting an anime movie

The “Netflix” part is just me being catty cause this isn’t far off from the Dragons Dogma, Godzilla, or Blood of Zeus anime’s. -
Yashahime: Princess Half Demon to replace Promised Neverland
Chapinator_X replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I watched half of it, but it was pretty mediocre. Inuyasha’s daughter Moroha is great, but Sesshomaru’s daughters made it a rough experience. I started out liking Towa, but as soon as Setsuna dragged the mood down with her angst, Towa’s character turned into a helicopter sister. You can tell that this one is for younger parents that want to introduce their kids to the series they used to love back in the early aughts. But at the same time, there are only a few cameos to keep us old fogeys entertained while the main three fight inconsequential monsters-of-the-week. -
Lord of the Rings is getting an anime movie
Chapinator_X replied to Chapinator_X's topic in Anime & Manga
I didn’t see his name in any of the articles, but he is claiming to be producing it alongside the Blade Runner anime film. It’s also odd that his involvement didn’t cause this to be for Toonami or HBO Max, but I guess WB/New Line have more faith in LOTR getting people to theaters than Blade Runner or Pacific Rim. -
Or rather, WB and New Line are theatrically releasing a straight-to-Netflix anime film. https://www.polygon.com/movies/22528048/lord-of-the-rings-war-of-the-rohirrim-animated-movie

Fans of the anime probably kept badgering him to bash the show or to be automatically disgusted because it’s live action. Not sure how the new show will turn out, but Steve gave a nice, levelheaded response to at least wait and give it a shot before automatically thinking it’ll be like DB Evolution. Not to mention the obnoxious mindset of expecting the voice of Spike Spiegel to dunk on the show because they need his approval on the notion that nothing should be allowed to beat the original. There’s nothing in it for him to try to adopt an angry view on the remake aside from winning brownie points with overbearing Twitter users who could prop it up and be like “See! Now I have a reason to hate the upcoming remake even more!” It makes sense why he had to come out and establish that he wanted no part in that kind of role.

Yoko Kanno confirmed for live action Bebop
Chapinator_X replied to viperxmns's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Nice of them to build a Netflix series around a new Yoko Kanno album. But hopefully it’s not a FLCL Prog/Alt situation where the only positive thing about the project is the music. -

Man, there’s a lot of garbo that ended up getting higher than Gridman. It was kinda amusing how there used to be a massive war between FMA Brotherhood, Gintama, and Haruhi on rigging the votes to get them to that #1 spot, but it looks like the positive reception to the last couple seasons of AoT ended up adding even more fuel to the fire.
