Hopefully Araki isn’t going to feel overworked by doing a Part 9. But it does give me a reason to power through Jojolion. I believe I left off around Chapter 55. I’m also curious about the odd spinoff series that was announced to be a story where Josuke and Hol Horse meet.

Yeah, I feel like people overestimate how aliens would react if they were able to make it to earth. As if aliens would be tricked into thinking earth has any plentiful resources to take. I guess it gives us a sense of importance to believe we’d be enviable enough for aliens to want to invade or take over. Or just a gut reaction based on our own history of invading other nations for resources.

I think burgers are the one beef you can get away with cooking well done or medium-well because you’re dealing with cruddier ground meat. Steaks, however, have no place being cooked anywhere past medium.

I think I’m more lenient on VC because none of the missions were as traumatic. The RC one was bad and I had a hard time with getting Lance to the hospital. But the worst thing about VC’s missions was only that you had to go back to the beginning location to retry if you failed. And because you might be halfway across the map or get wasted partway through, it’s a whole song & dance to get back to where you left off.

It’s impressive that Kondo alone composed both the mainline Mario’s up to Mario 64 and the mainline Zelda’s up to OoT.

I used to pay with cash back when I made an effort to use it for everyday purchases. My Chevy would only need $20 to be mostly full so I’d just say “I need 20 on Pump #_”. It made life easier for me and the cashier to be direct with the cash I have in hand and the pump where my car is at.

The next generation of gaming ended up amounting to having a POV perspective of constantly redoing the driving/plane exams, the train mission, and the RC plane mission in SA. VR would also be unsettling because you’re just expected to accept that you’re trapped in a blocky PS2 open world. It’d have to be the worst VR experience on edibles. On the flip side, the VR possibilities are endless if Hot Coffee is allowed in the SA remaster.

The old GTA’s had great open-worlds and soundtracks, but replaying the missions sounds like a nightmare.

Yes to the highest power. Unless you’re unionized, have ADR direction experience, or have moved onto video games, you’re dealing with a thankless profession with low pay and a fan base that either hates your guts or tries to have a parasocial relationship with you because you voiced a character they liked.

They got almost all the old dub voices back. Spike, Tiffany, Allison, Amanda, and John are all there. There are some new voices for Ritsuko and Kaworu, but it doesn’t feel as demoralizing as hearing about Amanda Winn Lee and Tiffany Grant having to audition for the Netflix dub and not getting their respective parts.

There is another new dub cast for Eva 3+1! https://www.siliconera.com/new-english-dub-announced-for-amazon-prime-evangelion-films/ From the looks of it, it’s probably the closest we’ve gotten to a reunion from the old dub with Amanda Winn Lee returning. There’s also the insane idea for all four movies getting a redub with this cast given how many actors were involved with the first three films, but it helps to make it consistent. It also makes me question what was involved with Netflix to be put in the position where they’d have to redub it when Amazon got most of the old cast together. I’m guessing it’s a Khara issue given the 3.0 situation, but I feel bad that both casts were jerked around so much. Where the original cast was shafted from being a part of the newer dub and the Netflix cast was thrown under the bus for replacing older VA’s.

Hopefully the Netflix acquisition doesn’t just outright extinguish any hype or discussion of the Stone Ocean anime. I’ll still sail the seven seas if I must, but maybe the worldwide release and a simulcast, it could help prevent everyone from jumping ship directly to other means of keeping up with it.

Not too thrilled to see who could replace Norio Wakamoto, but I’m sure they’ll probably pick a good cast out.

The animation is alright, but the color palette really doesn’t work with the character designs ripped straight out of a “How to Draw Anime” book. Wakfu’s looked similar, but the earth tones were a good workaround for its tackiness. Honestly, it would’ve worked better with more stereotypical CalArts designs than have the artists force a square peg into a round hole by making it look “anime”.

If you’re talking about massive releases that last longer than a week, maybe it’d be The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, The Wind Rises or The Secret World of Arrietty.
