It’s from Saint Young Men. A cute slice of life about Jesus and Buddha sharing an apartment as they learn about what people have been up to in modern day Japan.

rants Haters/Complainers: Legacy of Spleen

The dev team is already hard pressed enough about implementing toolbar changes. Breathing down my neck to pester the devs just because I put the ticket in for you is not going to get any of this done any sooner. -
Happy birthday Chun-Li! I got a tattoo of her a year ago that I’m still learning to love, but she’s a boss.

2011 was the last year Sum41 showed up on the US Alt Charts, so I’d say around then. -
I’d say no because it’d be very scary if a person was transformed into a sentient disembodied butt hole.

Not a bad decision. If I didn’t have a ton of family down here, NY sounds like it’d be promising.

I had no idea how many of those movies Meg Ryan made

I’ve watched You Got Mail way too many times because my parents loved it. They tried to make City of Angels and French Kiss work, but You’ve Got Mail has had a decades-long stranglehold on them. -
I think the tug-of-war between Netflix and Crunchyroll accrued interest in why Netflix is so quick to throw down on anime licenses. Disney Plus likely jumped into the trend to both ape what Netflix is doing and diversify their otherwise odd hodge-podge of IPs. The other streaming sites don’t have this luxury though. HBO Max and Hulu are dealing with CR and Fuji’s leftovers. Amazon’s been trying to break through for a while, but gave up when Anime Strike and Kabenari flopped hard. Paramount hasn’t done much, but I can imagine dealing with Viacom’s leftovers meant resigning to the fate of only having Aeon Flux as their anime-esque representation.

What's your equalizer when your depressed?

I wish I knew. It’s hard to get me out of a bad funk, but if I find something funny online or distract myself with games/hentai, I’m able to get over it. For example, I was irrationally pissed this afternoon, but it took reading some dude’s deliberately crappy Mario essay to get me cracking up. -

What isn’t appealing about spending volatile virtual Monopoly money on a receipt for a shitty monkey drawing that consumes enough energy to undo years of environmental sustainability efforts? To add to this, the digital divide makes it so that you need to have high tech resources to even start getting involved in crypto. Without any tech literacy or money that you can afford to throw away, investing in crypto is a good way to get suckered into losing everything you own on currency that can lose its worth at the drop of a hat. People think they can game the system by buying “low” and selling hight, but the digital rights on an NFT image are only as expensive as when you bought it. If you paid a few grand or more on an NFT, the most money that could be made from what you bought is the money you already spent. The people who could profit from NFTs already made that money merely by selling the image. If buying NFT’s already felt like money laundering for richer people to dump cash into, thinking there’d be resell value on crappy art you paid a fortune on is a grift is how the average joe gets tricked into crypto and NFTs. Except in their situation, rather than using NFTs to cheat on their taxes, they’re being scammed by the promise of buying NFTs as a “get rich quick” scheme. “If you spend your life savings or your kid’s college fund on this monkey art, you’ll be able to sell it eventually for twice the price.” But the lower/middle class people that spend on costly NFTs have more to lose because if no one can buy the rights to their ugly monkey art, then they just flushed life-saving money down the drain.

The OAC is really out here rewarding cheating, doped-up Russian bitches, but a small bit of pot can get a Black woman disqualified. And people wonder why the games are irrelevant, embarrassing, and only cause misery to the crumbling cities and dystopian shitholes they’re hosted in. -
As far as what’s after this, Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Neo: TWEWY are next up. Maybe I’ll try to squeeze in a fighting game story mode or finish games in my backlog like Famicom Detective Club or Fire Emblem.

Just finished SMT V. The story could’ve been a little more developed, but I loved the combat and still enjoyed what they gave us for the story. It was a refreshing experience because video games have become so focused on telling stories that the gameplay tends to be the worst part of the experience. It’s been a while since I approached an RPG and loved the combat enough that I’m not only happy with grinding, but wouldn’t mind hopping into New Game + to see what I can clear out. It was sobering to absolutely love the gameplay and have my only demerit against the game being that I’d like to learn more about the characters. All of this sounds like dick riding, but I really needed this game after going through a number of games that I’d rather watch than play.

All the Walden Books I used to camp out at had a ton of Bastard! volumes.
