  4. I'm not sure you're understanding what I was getting at. Yeah, that does answer what I asked. But what about the very, very first word used to describe a tree, regardless of language of origin? Like, why did they pick that word?
  5. Goddamn it sponges. I remember when I was little thinking things like, "Why is a tree called a tree? Who came up with that word?"
  6. That's fine, I have no problem with that. I just have a problem with you saying that saying sexual orientation is a social construct equates to homophobia.
  7. I don't know. I'm no expert anyway.
  8. Please don't put words in others' mouths. Like I said, you can say that heterosexuality is just as a made up social construct. If you do not wish to, that's on you. Those that say gays can be "changed" or "fixed" do not believe sexual orientation is just a social construct. They believe nature and biology says men + women, end of discussion. That is not believing sexual orientation is a social construct. You are putting meaning where it doesn't belong.
  9. I'm not talking about men who consider themselves men who like to dress in drag. I mean biological men who say they knew at a young age they were in the wrong bodies because they were more interested in playing with Barbies, wearing pretty pink dresses, etc.
  10. That has absolutely nothing to do with considering sexual orientation a social construct.
  11. How does that not say the same exact thing about heterosexuality?
  12. I don't quite know if I believe that, but I do think there is some truth to it, at least. But this post is going to make me go on a tangent, so bear with me... I think a good deal of transgenderism isn't really valid and is based on social constructs rather than biology. If a transgender person literally feels they have the wrong genitals, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about say, biological men who feel they are women trapped in men's bodies because they want to wear pretty dresses, high heeled shoes, have long flowing hair, love the color pink, etc. Absolutely none of those things are inherently feminine, they are just associated with femininity due to social constructs.
  13. That's tough. It is sometimes pretty easy to identify attractive males, but that just may be knowing what features in a male that females find attractive. On the other side, there have been many males that many females consider extremely attractive, and I'm like, "Really? ok..."
  14. What kind of lawyer would even take this case?
  15. I can't wait until my dad's birthday, so I can emphasize how old he is without having to worry about replies like these.
  16. My condolences.
  17. Yeah I've learned it's generally not wise to bear your soul online.
  18. Took me a while to get that. Gave you a pity like to be able to find humor in it when it used to be a huge trigger for you.
  19. I got exposed to Sabaton by way of the message boards at black-sabbath.com. A user there pointed out the riff in the first half of the Sabaton song Unbreakable is very similar to the first riff in Black Sabbath's A National Acrobat. After listening there's definitely a similarity, and I loved that song for it. I also really like the singer's voice a lot. But, aside form Unbreakable, their music just bores me. I really wish I liked their music because I like their singer a lot.
  20. My dad just posted on facebook a meme based on the picture of a guy hella checking out a girl walking by, next to his very jealous girlfriend. My dad is 69 years old. And he is posting memes.
  21. Some people would consider Manowar one of the classics.... Debut album out in 1982. Manowar were far more popular in Europe than in America. But that's cool. I was just offering because it took many tries with me but it was rewarding when it clicked.
  22. Dude, Eric Adams is such a great singer. It's weird. It took a LONG time for Manowar to click with me. And once they finally did start clicking with me, only two of their albums clicked with me right away. It was a long, gradual process of me becoming a fan, but by the end, I was hooked. I think a big hurdle for getting into Manowar is that the production on those early records is just so bad. The bass guitar completely buries the guitar, and it just doesn't have that "crunch" that metal guitars need to have. It's a lot easier to appreciate them once you get past the idea that hey, these guitar tones aren't going to rip your head off like Master of Puppets. But the songwriting is there. I guess another big hurdle a lot people have with Manowar is their lyrics and image. I don't know if that's true for you or not. Wouldn't surprise me. If you're interested, I could give you a recommendation for a song or two if you are interested in giving them another chance.
  23. I don't know how many other weakling metal musicians there are. But I am one. The irony being Manowar is one of my favorite bands. It's funny I just posted this image in a zeni thread like 12 hours ago.
  24. I get that. I'm a lazy fucker too.
  25. Who did your shopping?
