Happy birthday!

I have a horrible secret. When my parents take me out for my birthday next year (assuming we'll actually be done with all this bullshit by then) I want them to get the staff to sing happy birthday to me. But that was only very recently I wanted that. Almost me entire life my stance was "you do that to me I will never forgive you." But I don't want to tell my parents that I changed my mind because that seems kinda pathetic, you know, "Hey mom, can you ask them to sing happy birthday for me, please?" Like you requesting your own birthday song seems like it would make you seem conceited or starved for attention or something. It's not your loved ones wishing you a happy birthday, it's you're wishing yourself a happy birthday.

I'm guessing I had gas permeable lenses then. Yeah, fuck those.

About what year did you first get gas permeable lenses?

Not really what I was asking.... I don't remember what my eye doctor called them exactly, but my mom referred to them as "hard lenses" when I wore them, and she had experience with them too (not sure if she eventually moved to soft lenses). Never heard (or don't recall) the term gas permeable. Just wondering if we're talking about the same thing.

lol no. I gravitated towards the Internet so much because it's so much easier to express myself this way. IRL I hardly say anything. I completely lack the ability to carry on a conversation irl. Here it helps that a lot of us have common interests. Not a lot of people irl to talk about cartoons with. And I avoid talking about my forever-aloneness irl as much as humanly possible. Also I avoid talking about politics irl as much as humanly possible for obvious reasons. Even if I get the sense whoever I'm speaking to generally has the same political leanings as me, I still don't want to talk about it. Really the only people irl I have to talk about music with are my bandmates, but even then it's basically just the well known bands, except one of my bandmates we sometimes talk about underground metal, but that's like it.

These stories aside, I'm not trying to tell you you should dislike the guy. You can still disapprove of the behavior but not the person who did the behavior. You're excusing the behavior as he did nothing wrong. THAT'S the issue that I'm having. Other people's opinions your reading / hearing might be telling you to hate the guy, but that's not what I'M saying. I'm saying don't excuse the behavior. Like the man all you want though.
