I don’t understand this fuckin guy. Does he think other countries make movies just to fuck over the US?  He’s a paranoid fuck stick

He’s still ass mad over Parasite winning Best Picture.

Tax incentives and the like are what’s needed, but states can do that while tariffs can be unilaterally imposed, hence his love affair with them.  This may be a way to get concessions on tax benefits for studios, but he’s too stupid to do that and his advisors would need to figure that out.

Yes. Every accusation is a confession. Even stupid ones like this

Or...and I'm just throwing this out there, someone on the inside that does these things for the Administration knew and it was intentional sabotage (they could always claim afterward they were unaware of the color thing).

There’s no way to make Alcatraz a prison again.  The building is fine but it’s too small and uses outdated technology.

It speaks to Trump’s rose colored nostalgia for the 50s in famous landmarks, race relations, and the general state of the country compared to the rest of the world.

It’s like he’s living in an episode of The Untouchables.

There.

Seems far easier to spin this as an old man that has literally no idea what year it is.

Just wait. At this rate it won't be long before someone simply sneezing in another country in our general direction will be considered a national security threat, and he'll demand we build a giant sneeze guard around the entire nation. We'll be the country-sized version of the bubble boy then. Only it won't do any good because he's the worst germ there is, and he's already inside.

came in here to say this.

the tours are getting more restricted to certain areas because of decay. and yes the tech that prisons use these days.

we're talking a few hundred million to get this place operational again. i guess this is for the 'homegrown' criminals.

I know he’s wearing McDonald’s but I would still title this piece “Trump as Dr Pepper”

Trump walks back the tariff plan after it's clear no one liked the idea, not the right wanting to support Hollywood, not the fans of foreign media, and not Hollywood itself.

I interpreted it as the White House endeavoring to clean up his mess and turn a late night post into a real, workable policy

Not to mention that it's plumbing and drinking water system was pure garbage from the start because it was a rock island surrounded by salty water.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they come up with something more serious for this, though it won't be because he at all wants to save Hollywood. He just wants to inflict enough pain on it to force it to heel and accept some type of government oversight that'll no doubt be about who they can hire or imposing certain restrictions on what type of content they can include.

Just another part of the never-ending, ever more ubiquitous culture war of theirs. First the Kennedy Center and the museums, then the schools, and now this. It's no secret that Hollywood has been a big driver of cultural change in this country, and to a lesser extent worldwide. Only figures that with their so called war on woke they'd eventually go after it.
