And it's really telling how the republican party has moved so far to the right in the past decades that Bush has been recast as a bleeding-heart and Romney, the former vulture capitalist, is painted as a socialist.

Capitol police are asking for permission to kill the folks who show up for the upcoming 9/18 riot, but don't think it will come to that as Trump will not be attending.

Charlie Kirk and others also have not chartered busses to ship in potential terrorists this time.

So the thing is,  it's not just "nuclear war". The world has a policy of Mutually Assured Destruction. Nobody is supposed to nuke anyone, but if anyone ever does launch a nuke, everyone agreed to launch their own and end the world in nuclear fire.

The idea is folks won't launch nukes if the know it will literally end human society.

Worst part is it'd theoretically be worse if somebody launched a nuke and we didn't all end in a bang.

If somebody launches a nuke, and we don't end the world, then it was a bluff- there was no real deterrent and nuclear missiles are no longer taboo. All war becomes nuclear.

I mean practically speaking we'll wipe ourselves out either way.

That's why we try to keep game show hosts away from the button.
