2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences

ok fuck it

I think Kamala is going to win. I don't think every state will be decided tonight, but it will be by a larger margin than Biden won in the critical tipping point states. I think Trump will overperform in the NYC metro region and underperform in the midwest states with ongoing fights over abortion or unpopular abortion bans. This won't affect their toplines (I'll say the candidates trade AZ for NC, otherwise match 2020 results), but it means that the GOP advantage in the electoral college (versus the popular vote) is reduced, and there will be downballot impacts. Swing seat Republican incumbents in the NYC metro region will survive, but they will be traded for seats in the midwest that weren't on top of all the tossup lists. Swing seat Democratic incumbents mostly hold on. Sherrod Brown survives and both the MT and TX Senate races go into overtime. Let's say that populist independent dude wins in Nebraska because partisanship won't override Deb Fischer's pisspoor campaign due to Trump's regional underperformance. Dems flip the House by a slightly larger margin than the GOP in 2022, and we find out in a few days that the GOP probably takes the Senate by one seat (50-49-1).

The NYS Prop 1 Equal Rights Amendment fails (due to increased regional GOP performance), but the OH Issue 1 redistricting reform narrowly passes despite every possible GOP attempt to sabotage it.

I voted. Scanner wasn’t working took 5 times to accept my ballot. Took a pen. Left the sticker and iPad case or wtf it was. Place was pretty packed. I think a lot of people were first time voters cuz they took a long time to check in and they had to give ID. I didn’t show them anything and fucked it on the question “what’s your address” my mind went blank I told them “asking me the trick questions!” 🫠

I hate when I eat a gummy and promptly forget, then I'm around people and I'm like "why does everyone sound like the aliens from Sesame Street".

Its funny watching all these reacitons on X right now. Theres a complete and total mix of both Republican and Democrat insiders swinging wildly between open panic and total optimism.

My feed is full of one tweet with a GOP insider saying turnout is too low, followed by a Democrat saying the same thing, followed by a GOP saying actually turnout means that NJ is in play, followed by one where Democrats think Texas is in play.

Its a total shit show, and its hilarious. No one knows whats going on right now.

Then theres stuff like this. A huge question in this whole thing has been that Silent Trump vote. If this is true then Trump may have a huge night. But who the hell knows right now. Anyone telling you that a swing state is absolutely going one way or another is just lying to you right now.

Wait until she gets to the part where she filled out the ballot and flubbed the president.

But I did fuck up cuz I didn’t check the working family party ticket it almost always (maybe always) matches the dem presidential candidate. I like to check that one instead of democrats cuz wtf not?  Almost no one checks that one probably. Idk. I’m making it up. Not the party just the part about no one checking it

The Originalist justices decided that the founding fathers definitely never said anything about never falling under the rule of another king or being above the law anywhere at anytime ever.

And they absolutely never ever wrote the exact procedures for impeaching a President ever ever. Nope nope nope.

I predict that Dumpster will declare himself lord and master of all the thing between 10-midnight when most of the small, more likely republican voting counties have been made official during the red mirage time. He'll be shitting himself on every possible media in the morning once the larger areas and early/mail-ins start to be officially entered into the totals. He's already got people filing lawsuits all over the place for election fraud which at this point is defined as 'you didn't vote for ME!'.

And since I can't drink and adapt to whatever drugs I'm given [ ask me how fast I blitzed the Novocain this time for the crown prepping at the dentist >.< ] I have to deal with all this crap sober so I'm going to bed kinda early and putting the tv on a timer on cartoons.

Sure sounds like there is far to much power in that position then.

Shouldn't  have cheered when Obama was denied a SCOTUS pick for MONTHS and then Farting Cheet-O/Hidden Adderall was handed a third pick within 2 weeks of the election due to RBG passing away that was 'mysteriously' pushed through immediately.

The doucheknozzle forgot to cut the clip at his spin.

The guy goes on to say that it would mean she overcame remarkable odds because she posed herself as a solution. To take that a little further than he does, at least in that clip, neither Biden nor Trump were willing to pretend to be a solution. Trump's post-Biden implosion only highlighted him being the problem. He's actually praising her campaign, though. I don't know why he left that in if he was going to pretend the quote was negative.

Watching billionaire momsters implode this year has been a delight, regardless. It's one ironic farce collapsing after another.

Its funny how true this is. Neither candidate really should have a chance at this because they both truly are horrible horrible candidates.

It's more like too much of the population are absolute idiots or you know, racist.
Who in their right mind would vote for a rapist, a fraud, a draft dodger, a racist, a sexist, a con man, a pathetic unraveling moron who shits his pants?

All right, we're getting to the point of voting booths closing in the east coast. The red mirage is coming, and Trump will prematurely ejaculate and his supporters will claim immaculate conception, yes. The question is when.

Just finished taking a little nap. Wanted to savor the little bit of peace and quiet left before the storm of emotions I'm about to pass through tonight. Welp, human race it's show time. Is it merely straddling the abyss or are we jumping on in? Honestly, I'm not really that worried about tonight. It's four years from now that terrifies me. Why? Let's just say it's a feeling. Maybe it's just in my nature to feel that way, but I really hope the Dems pull off the trifecta somehow tonight. The senate though is just such a heavy lift, regardless of how the other stuff winds up, if it's divided government and gridlock for four more years, it worries me.

Of course if Trump were to win it would be worse, but I worry the republican party could come up with someone much more capable of not shooting himself in the face and just as devious and dangerous four years down the road. Anyway, crossing my fingers for the best possible outcome tonight. ::straps in for the ride tonight::
