Most recent shame/depression meal?

I just ate a steak quesadilla and an entire bag of Cinnabon bites from Taco Bell and washed it down with a Red Bull.

Not sure why that's a shame or depression meal...But ok, I'll play.

Shame: Chitterlings I had a few months ago....My son asked was i cooking souls.  I usually only have them every few years or so...Last time I had them was 2014 iirc, but they always come with a bit a shame attached.

Depression....Ok, see, if I'm depressed, I won't eat and once I get to starvation levels, I'll just cram anything edible into my mouth not to die.....Lat thing being maybe a cold boloney sammich with nothing on it.....Can't really think of the last time I did that, but believe me it was TOO long ago......Probably around Christmas last year because i felt like even though the kids had gifts and shit, I wasn't exactly in a yule tide mood last year.

Yeah does not get much more hopeless than that. Maybe like a pull-tab can of mechanically-separated chicken with a plastic fork a few months past the best-by date. Also I have never even heard of chitterlings.

ok then.....I guess there is nothing to gain for ripping into this, so ok.

But I have a can in my bottom cabinet (where i basically horde shit I never plan on eating and am not completely sure how i even became in possession of) that just says pork and has a crudely drawn pig on it.  Now I do actually know where i got this....When covid first hit, I don't know if you recall me getting a few jars of the Jewish fish stuff in jelly....I forgot what it's called but I'm sure there is another jar or two in that bottom cabinet.  Anyway, my mom made me take the fish because "You don't know what can happen" but apparently she also gave them my address...so every few weeks, they would leave a box on my porch full of....Well, gross shit like canned pork (which kinda made me think this wasn't from a Jewish temple or whatever like I originally though...but I can't remember if they are anti pig or anti cow....Anyway, I digress).  They had a few snacks in there the kids liked and I never get tired of Vienna sausages and cheezits. but nothing else in there was worth eating.

I caught the guy one day dropping the box off and told him not to bring any more but it kept happening well into like June.....I finally had to track down the source and almost DEMAND they stop dropping that shit off at my house.  I assume they wanted to get rid of it because when I said "Give it to someone in greater need" and they replied "we are all in need"....OK, FINE....I NEED WEED...I DO NOT NEED A CASE OF 24, 18 OZ BOXES OF RAISINS>

I made a grilled cheese w/the end piece of whole wheat bread. I just used a whole tablespoon of butter to fry tf out of it.

coincidentally I'm about to have a particularly decadent meal rn. I have hot dogs but no buns or bread (hence the bread butt grilled cheese) I have ramen noodles but only shrimp and seafood flavor. If it was chicken beef or oriental flavor, I'd put the hot dogs in the ramen. Since I can't do that I'm going to have spicy shrimp ramen w/2 naked hot dogs on the side unless I can think of something sadder first

I only eat shrimp or Oriental noodles....I have been known to put hotdogs in it.

If you were here you could help me decide what I want to eat....I've starved myself all day waiting on the Pho place to open and they are closed for some reason...so I came back home and I can't think of what I want instead....you could pick and I'd at least have the satisfaction that someone got what they wanted..... Honestly I'm just trying to have something nice to eat before my kids come home talking about chicken strips and cheese burgers.

It's all about perspective...I treat it like instant rice...just because it's fast and simple doesn't mean you have to eat it alone.

Spicy shrimp is the best.

chicken strips and cheeseburgers sound pretty good tho... Really I need like popeyes or something. I don't have $$$ for it tho. Actually come to think of it I don't even have the popeyes bc theres only kfc around here. Fuck I hate it here

This has been my fave for awhile now they have a few other flavors of this type but I like this one best add a little hot sauce so good.

Their fucked up shrimp most recently, but i knew better. Before that, it was their chicken sandwich that was a huge disappointment and the other times they have just been subpar for many reasons.

I know it's just this particular popeyes because i love their sides and will eat it anywhere else, but fuck this one.

I only go to chicken joints for buckets. If I only want to spend like $5-10 I go somewhere else for fast food. Like I never tried any of those chicken sandwiches when all the chains were having a war or whatever was going on

Nachos Bell Grande was my last shame meal, but it turned into a depression meal when the Baja Blast didn’t taste as good as I remembered it being ages ago. 

Full on depression meal was a soggy roast beef panini from Whole Foods. It was one of those “eat because you gotta” meals and they didn’t have the sandwich I was looking for, so this one had to do. It had no flavor and the produce made the bread watery, making a bad workday worse.

i cook all my meals so i don't really have one. closest thing would be the burrito casserole i made out of laziness. like i used frozen burritos for it. thats pretty shameful, i think.

I tried to heat up a ham and cheese sandwich in the microwave at lunch today, just as a change of pace.

An hour later my body was like "yeah don't do that shit again"
